Job Description

We are currently seeking a Cover Supervisor to work in an Outstanding school that is based in Kensington and Chelsea, this role is to start in September 2022 and will continue through to the end of the academic year. It is a full time post (Monday-Friday)Cover Supervisor

  • Start date: December 2022
  • Salary: £80-120
  • Location: Kensington and Chelsea
  • Full time position (Monday to Friday)
The role of a cover supervisor in a secondary school is to provide additional support to the teaching teams and staff. You will be covering classes and ensuring students are being kept on task throughout their classes. This is a key role as you will be anotherlayer of support for students at the school.The ideal cover supervisor would be an experienced teaching assistant. You will be supervising pupils who have had pre-planned work set out for them by the teacher, in the absence of the class teacher. This could be sickness cover, maternity/paternity leaveor training cover.Your main role will be to manage the classroom and the behaviour of the students as well as ensuring that work is being completed.We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Ability to supervise student to ensure tasks are understood and completed
  • Behaviour is being managed to an acceptable level
  • Someone with experience working across all Key Stages (3-5)
  • Assisting students when they have queries and concerns
  • Someone who can follow the schools procedures and safeguarding policies
  • Monitoring each pupils development and feeding back results to teachers and head of departments
  • 2:1 in an undergraduate degree (ideally Maths, English, Science or Business related subjects)
  • Clear and Current DBS or willing to obtain one
