Overview of the role:The Treasury Controls Manager provides support to the International Treasurer and the Head of Balance Sheet Management, International Treasury in managing International Treasurys internal control activities, with a strong focus on maintaining a sound controlenvironment and supporting treasury initiatives in the region. This is a VP role (level L), based in London and reports to the Head of Balance Sheet Management, International Treasury. Key Responsibilities:The role will be responsible for all aspects of the internal control environment for International Treasury, including:

  • Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process across International Treasury including preparation, monitoring and on-going review of the RCSA and KRI/ KPI process.
  • Ensuring updates and review of Corporate Treasury Service Level Descriptions (SLDs) and MoUs across the legal entities and business partners in the region, including monthly attestations.
  • Ensuring appropriate record keeping for the International Treasury function in line with the Corporate Record Keeping Policy and regulatory standards.
  • Preparation and coordination of Corporate Treasury Business Risk Committee submissions and presenting International Treasury updates. Coordinating the International Treasurys input to the Corporate Treasury HLA (High Level Assessment) process.
  • Supporting International Treasurer for Senior Manager Regime (SMR).
  • Point of contact for Internal Audit and Compliance Monitoring reviews including tracking of all internal audit and compliance issues for closure within the required target dates.
  • Coordination of Business Continuity Plan (BCP) for the International Treasury including record keeping for BCP Testing.
  • Other internal control items across International Treasury including coordination of: OFAC requirements, annual technology budget, TPG (third party governance), record keeping requirements, conflicts of interest and breach register.
  • Provide back up for the Balance Sheet Management Team for day to day and ad-hoc deliverables.
  • Supporting the International Treasurer and Head of Balance Sheet Management with ad hoc projects / deliverable relating to International Treasury.
Governance Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the effective governance of legal entities in the EMEA Region. Play an active role in local or regional committees, offering constructive challenge and helping to support the Committee/Board fulfill its role and responsibilities.
  • Help to ensure that a strong governance culture is embedded within region, that issues are escalated and cascaded appropriately and that key risks are identified, discussed and mitigated.
  • Build a good understanding of the legal entity and EMEA regional governance framework, including escalation requirements.
Generic Staff Responsibilities:
  • Comply with all BNY Mellon policies and procedures, including HR policies and procedures, applicable.
  • Alert management including the Chief Risk Officer and / or International/ UK Chief Risk Officer or the Legal Entity Risk Officer (as applicable) immediately of any significant changes to business risks and internal control effectiveness.
  • Notify management and/or the Chief Compliance sand Ethics Officer and Head of UK Compliance immediately on discovery of any material regulatory breach.
  • Comply with all Security and Health & Safety policies and procedures operating within the business.

  • Bachelor/Master degree or equivalent qualification
  • Relevant banking experience with specific experience in a Treasury or Risk Management function and a strong focus on risk and control environment.
  • Superior organisational skills.

  • Good project management and report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
