Job Description

About this role:The EMEA Corporate Banking (CBG) Analyst plays a critical role supporting the coverage, origination and ongoing portfolio servicing of corporate clients headquartered in EMEA. The role will work in a team environment primarily alongside Portfolio Managersand Relationship Managers. Key responsibilities include conducting borrower fundamental analysis (such as financial performance and projection modelling), industry analysis, supporting documentation negotiation/review and other areas critical to underwriting large credit relationshipsin EMEA. The role will be involved in a variety of activity ranging from hedging limits to event driven financing needs of clients. The Analyst role will also have responsibilities in assisting Relationship Managers with supporting existing clients and newclient prospecting and screening. The role will be based in Wells Fargos EMEA headquarters in London. CBG is responsible for managing relationships for large corporate EMEA clients within the Industrials, Technology, Media & Telecom, Consumer & Retail and Healthcare sectors. CBG sits within Wells Fargos Corporate & Investment Banking group. . In this role, you will:

  • Work with Portfolio Managers and Relationship Managers in analysing credit requests, with a focus on understanding borrower performance, financial statements, cash flow projections and industry dynamics.
  • Partake in customer due diligence meetings. Conduct market research and prepare credit approval documents (memos, credit reports, charts, financial models, term sheets, etc.) for presentation to credit/capital committees.
  • Work with internal partners (including, but not limited to, F/X, Rates, Legal, Syndications, M&A, Debt Capital Markets, Risk Management, and support teams) to ensure timely and accurate execution of transactions.
  • Monitor customer financial performance, credit ratings and compliance with covenants. Prepare financial updates, report on key trends and identify ongoing key risks in a timely manner.
  • Organise and maintain customer and market research information, loan documentation, portfolio analysis reports, compliance and credit approval documents.
  • Mentor and provide regular guidance and training to junior analysts/interns.
  • Participate in projects and process development initiatives for the Corporate & Investment Banking group and/or the EMEA region.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business or similar is advantageous but not required.
  • Professional experience working in financial services, including but not limited to banks and rating agencies.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills, ability to analyse financial statements and conduct excel based financial modelling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Exposure to FactSet, Bloomberg or other market research tools is helpful.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to write clear, concise summary of analytical findings and conclusions.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment.
  • Focus on attention to detail and accuracy
