Job Description

Join us in Controls Assurance

  • The Assurance and Investigations team within Trade & Transaction Reporting (T&TR), Market Operations, NatWest Holdings, provides independent assurance to the Business that T&TR is both complete and accurate per the regulations, through regular testing toagreed Authoritative Sources of data . Current scope includes; MiFID II, EMIR, MAS Dodd Frank Act , Canadian Transaction Reporting among other regulations, with focus on FX, Rates, FI, Credit and ETD products
  • This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of protecting the bank and supporting with the design, development, and undertaking of assurance activity on an end-to-end basis
What youll doThis role will see you delivering tasks and activities related to the ongoing management of TTR Assurance. Youll take ownership of operation processes and ensure that assurance testing is based on regulatory rules by product flow and that the testing is fitfor purpose. You will also identify and investigate reporting discrepancies through discussions with multiple key stakeholders to document findings. Well look to you to deliver against channel and central actions, in line with the risk appetite and direction set by management, as well as supporting an effective and efficient assurance function, meeting all policy standard owners, legal and regulatory requirementsand expectations along with ensuring control standards are suitable for a regulatory environment, providing reporting expertise on assurance and trade reporting testing. On top of this, youll be:
  • Improving assurance processes, procedures and scheduling methodologies, making sure that the global methodology and supporting processes are consistent, up to date and fully aligned with our policy framework
  • Working to improve and support the assurance toolset to support a robust process that develops the right outcomes for the bank
  • Working through 3rd party independently flagged observations, remediating reporting with the T&TR BAU team, raising and tracking JIRAs for enhancements to NW systems and reporting flows.
  • Developing and supporting integrated system solutions that drive efficiency savings
The skills youll needYoull need excellent communication skills as youll be building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the bank, developing and using these networks across internal and external organisations. A background in assurance and risk management methodologies will be required, as will a good understanding of the application of operational risk in a financial services environment. Youll also bring:
  • Experience of operating in an audit, assurance or risk function, you will be a consummate risk manager who understands where risk resides and arises in BAU process and assesses that risk and ensures it is targeted where possible in 1LOD assurance testing
  • Experience of developing relationships with stakeholders and building positive working relationships
  • Experience of working with regulatory reportable products within the Derivatives and or Fixed Income and respective trade flows
  • A strong and demonstrable understanding of front to back system architecture along the trade lifecycle and reporting flow
  • The ability to influence at all levels
  • Exemplary standards of delivery and consistently meets with or exceeds customer expectations
  • A motivated self-starter attitude to gain business and product understanding to provide insight and value added analysis
