Delivering in excess of 8,000 metres of gas mains replacement and almost 700 services and associated works every week, KLT is committed to delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.Predominantly specialising in gas renewal and infrastructure maintenance, KLT has gained a strong reputation as one of the leading providers in the utility industry.Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Self-employedContracts Manager.Contracts Manager - About the Role: To manage the delivery of the contract targets ensuring all works are performed in accordance with Health, Safety and Technical policies/procedures and legislative requirements. To take responsibility for the management of depot staff, supervisors and delivery teams and to provide a focal point for activities with all relevant Local Authorities.Contracts Manager - Responsibilities:• Managing the contract delivery targets in accordance with programme, specifically: ensuring all work is conducted safely and in compliance with current company policies, operating within the appropriate Health, Safety and Environmental Management systems and current legislation; ensuring excellent customer service is provided and customer satisfaction continually improves.• Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation (e.g. NRSWA) and that all operational staff have appropriate competencies and certificates to undertake works.• Monitoring performance to ensure that all objectives are met and problems are anticipated and resolved.• Encourage and integrate innovation and cost-effective working methods, introduce new systems and procedures to improve performance/efficiency• Maintain and develop excellent relationships with clients• Accurately report on costs and values for all contracts, delivery targets / maximise site margin and maximise cash collection• Monitor, analyse & investigate performance against targets, ensuring KPI targets set by the company and client are met/exceeded• Assist in the recruitment, training and development of direct reports• Manage and develop the team of internal works engineers• Identify plant & material requirements and manage to ensure efficient utilization.• Ensure that records (manual and electronic) for completed works are processed and submitted in accordance in a timely manner and to current procedures to provide accurate details of works carried out.• Act as a role model always in support of the company’s vision, priorities and values.• Carry out any other duties appropriate for the role.Contracts Manager - General Skills and Experience:• Significant experience at a Management level• Project Management skills including management of risk for delivery of projects to time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply.• People management• Change Management• Commercial acumen - experience in contract management within fixed price and target cost contracts.• Effective communication skills including the ability to make persuasive presentations to small and large audiences• Strong negotiating and influencing skills• Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation, track record of developing working relationships quickly and effectively• Sound understanding of health and safety legislation• Membership of relevant professional body (desirable)• IOSH / NEBOSH (desirable)• Utilities SHEA Gas• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel & ProjectIf you have the skills and experience, we require for this role, please click on the APPLY button and forward an up to date CV and cover letter.Due to the volume of applications we receive we are unable to respond to all applicants.
