ST GEORGE’S UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS NHS FOUNDATION TRUSTConsultant Radiologist with an interest in Head and Neck ImagingApplications are invited for a Consultant Radiologist to join a friendly and cohesive team of radiologists with diverse expertise in a busy department and a strong record in teaching and training. The applicant would be expected to join the existing radiologists in providing a comprehensive cross-sectional, diagnostic radiology service and to provide support for the head and neck imaging service; as well as participate in the diagnostic on-call service.This post has been created to support the growing demand for imaging within the trust, both in acute imaging and the increasing demand for specialist radiology reporting services. The successful applicant will join a team of 40 Consultant Radiologists and 40 Specialist Registrars in the department in providing a comprehensive diagnostic radiology service including diagnostic sessions in MRI, CT, ultrasound and plain film reporting.St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers a comprehensive diagnostic service for Head and Neck including the full range of specialist endoscopic, radiological, and pathology services. The head and neck surgical team is one of the largest in the United Kingdom, and performs the full complement of surgical procedures for head and neck cancer, within the South West London area, including minimally invasive robotic and laser surgery, as well as microvascular free flap reconstruction. St George’s Hospital is also the regional centre for all skull-base surgery relating to cancer, with the benefits from having the regional neurosurgical unit on site. We are a joint cancer center with the Royal Marsden Hospital where the radiotherapy, radioactive iodine, and chemotherapy treatments are provided. We provide a Fine Needle Aspiration and Biopsy (FNAB) service and also participate in the weekly specialist MDT for Head and Neck cancer.
