Job Description

This newly createdrole is basedwithin the MarketRisk Analytics Department, The team is responsible for the development of market risk methodology and market risk models, which feed directly into the firms internal and regulatory capital calculationsand risk management frameworks. The team is representedacross multiple geographical locations and jurisdictions.Core Responsibilities

  • Working within an existing codebase (focusing on Python scripts and SQL queries) to enhance data processing functionalities and to expand input data coverage.
  • Working with Firm IT systems (primarily via Python-based APIs) to interact with on-demand functionalities of risk model engines.
  • Optimising the parallelization and batching of data processing scripts.
  • Collaborating with other teams (data, IT) to ensure that model changes are appropriately implemented.
  • Contributing to key regulatory deliverables and programs as well as analysis and interpretation of key regulatory requirements.
Experience Required
  • A strong academic background, including a degree in a quantitative discipline, such as quantitative finance, statistics/mathematics, sciences or engineering.
  • Some knowledge of Python and SQL, demonstrable experience in coding numerical methods and algorithms, data analysis and manipulation.
  • Strong knowledge of professional development concepts and technologies and modern development toolchain.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbally.
  • An interest in working in a fast-paced environment, often balancing multiple high priority deliverables.
