We have an opportunity for a full time Consultant in Mental Health Liaison in Tower Hamlets with a commitment to clinical leadership of our ECT Service. The role is based at Royal London Hospital and the Mental Health Liaison Service is well resourced and accredited by the RCPsych (CCQI) PLAN scheme.It has three main areas of operation:a) The Royal London Hospital Emergency Department;b) trauma, neuroscience, intensive care and infection & immunity wards at the Royal London Hospital; and,c) Oncology, cardiac, endocrine and chest wards at St Bartholomews Hospital.The post-holder will have the opportunity to become clinical lead for ECT which is provided at the Royal London Hospital. There are excellent opportunities to develop an area of special interest within the service to complement that of the other psychiatrists as well as explore academic and research opportunities and apply for Honorary Senior Lecturer contract with the Barts and London Medical school. The consultants are supported by two full-time Specialty Doctors, two core trainees, one GPVTS, one FY2, 11 liaison nurses, one band 8b psychologist and one specialist OT.
