Consultant - GHG Verification and Assurance

You will become a specialist in GHG verification and assurance services and will lead the development of potential new verification services such as net zero assurance.You will also be given dedicated time to develop product and innovate as part of your role, as well as an opportunity to grow and lead the team around you.Key responsibilities include the following:

• Leading strategic projects with clients to help provide assurance for their annual GHG assertions, ESG reports and broader sustainability performance.
• A desire to research, business case and develop new verification services
• Relationship building across large and complex clients, including upskilling leadership teams
• Programme management and delivery, including service delivery improvement
• Delivering stakeholder engagement programmes
• Business development to expand work with key clients and drive growth of the company
• Scaling consultancy services through effective resourcing, developing processes and coaching the team
• Leading teams and supporting colleagues with personal development

Candidates will ideally have the following experience although candidates with alternative experiences, such as those with a strong audit or assurance background, will be considered too:

• 3 years+ relevant experience in GHG verification and/or assurance services.
• Previous consulting experience and you will have been responsible for leading verification and assurance exercises across a broad range of industry and organisation types, either in sustainability, GHG or audit
• You will have technical auditing knowledge and good understanding of how GHG assurance can impact companies and support their objectives around climate resilience.
• Technical knowledge of the various audit and verification standards and the bodies that define them such as BSI, UKAS and ISO.
• In-depth knowledge of verification and assurance standards, with a focus on ISO 14064-3.
• Experience with ISO 14065 and wider assurance standards such as ISAE3000 and AA1000 is desirable
• Good understanding of legislative reporting frameworks including SECR, mandatory GHG reporting and the EU ETS.
• Good understanding of voluntary ESG reporting frameworks such as CDP, GRESB, TCFD and GRI.
• Strong attention to detail and an ability to confidently communicate verification findings that lead to accurate reporting and continuous improvement.
• Project management experience
• Excellent presentation skills and ability to lead workshops with business leaders
• A self-starter with good experience of succeeding in a fast-paced environment.
