IMPERIAL COLLEGE HEALTHCARE NHS TRUSTDivision of Women’s, Children’s and Clinical SupportCONSULTANT DIAGNOSTIC NEURORADIOLOGIST(10 Programmed Activities)Ref: 290-COND513Applications are invited for a full time Consultant Diagnostic Neuroradiologist. This is a new substantive post which offers an excellent opportunity to join an established team of 9.5 whole time equivalent (WTE) Diagnostic Neuroradiologists and 5 WTE Interventional Neuroradiologists.ICHNT is a tertiary referral centre for complex Neuroscience patients. There is a large established hyperacute stroke unit (HASU) and a major trauma centre (MTC). The Trust provides a 24-7 thrombectomy service and works closely and collaboratively with other trusts in the North West London sector.The successful candidate will have completed sub-specialist training in diagnostic neuroradiology and will be expected to substantially contribute to the neuroradiology reporting workload. Rapid access, scan turnaround times, as well as efficient and safe inpatient and emergency workload, are key priorities. The work would also include advanced CT and MR imaging in the form of physiological perfusion imaging, spectroscopy, diffusion tensor imaging and functional MRI.There will be opportunities to contribute to the paediatric neuroradiology and spinal injection services.Candidates with an interest and or track record in research are actively encouraged to apply.The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to training as well as to work with the divisional team to help manage the service effectively. There is a strong focus on training, and our radiology training scheme is highly regarded, with over 50 trainees currently in post, many in sub-specialty training. The appointee will also be expected to play an active role in trainee supervision and work closely with clinical staff.The post will be based at the Charing Cross Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital sites.The applicants must hold a CCT in Clinical Radiology (or equivalent) and be on the GMC Speciality Register, or be within 6 months of being granted a CCT.
