Your roleThe role sits within Deloittes Data & Analytics Modernisations FS Artificial Intelligence team which is a group of data scientists and innovators designed to deliver cutting edge solutions that leverage the latest artificial intelligence and big data technologies for our most advanced clients. We create new and innovative propositions and our experience covers everything from Econometrics and Quantitative Trading to Electrical Engineering and High Energy Physics. We are looking for Data Scientists (Preferably computer scientist or an artificial intelligence research background) to complement our machine learning capabilities and provide deep algorithmic knowledge whilst researching, developing and delivering our innovative client offerings. As one of the junior data scientists / consultants in our FS Artificial Intelligence team, you will:• Apply machine learning techniques creatively to solve complex problems • Research and develop innovative solutions to expand our breadth of offerings • Stay conversant in new machine learning techniques, technologies, architectures and languages where necessary • Assisting in the crafting of responses to client proposal requests and in pitching data science projects to client. As a consultant you will:• Be responsible for the high quality delivery of key parts of our engagements working with our senior data scientists • Suggest practical solutions to clients and work to implement these solutions as a part of larger engagement teams • Be highly aware of regulatory and market developments and be pro-active in identifying the challenges and opportunities they create and helping clients to strategically position themselves in a changing market place Your work, your choiceAt Deloitte we believe the best impact is the value we add, not the hours we sit at our desk. Your professional experienceTo qualify for the role you must have:• A BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or other highly analytical/quantative degree subject • Some hands-on experience applying machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques in commercial organisations (including in Insuretech, FinTech etc) • Practical experience with some of the following C++, Java, Python, R, MATLAB • Practical experience with modern AI libraries such as TensorFlow, H2O • Understanding of modern Big Data Engineering technologies • Entrepreneurial & pragmatic mindset • Have superior planning and organization skills so as to work with a high-performance team, handle demanding clients and multitask effectively • High degree of personal motivation and ability to self-manage • Full travel mobility • Right to live and work in the UK There are some core consulting characteristics that we are looking for, including:• Commercial insight • Structured approach to problem solving • Adaptability of skill-set • Strong communication skills • Ability to convey complex and highly technical issues in layman terms identifying a strong commercial application able to enhance the clients profitability • Ability to manage client relationships • Ability to manage engagements • Ability to manage a significant piece of work and/or a team • Show leadership in further developing our analytics offerings for our clients, identifying upcoming areas of demand driven by regulatory and market trends and assisting in targeting clients and working on proposals; • Contribute to practice management, including recruitment and coaching Your service line: ConsultingOur people and the way we work are the two things that set us apart in the consulting universe.
