Job Description

Amazon opened its virtual doors in 1995 and strives to be the world’s most customer-centric company, where customers can find and discover anything they might want to buy online.The successful candidate will be a key part of Design and Construction team and will actively contribute to ensure a strong coordinated Commissioning and Turnover management process that completes and compliments the efforts expended during the earlier development,design and procurement stages of a project.Reporting and communication routesThe role based in London will include frequent travel to locations within Continental EU.Reporting directly to the Head of EU Construction Quality, the successful candidate will follow the Amazon’s Completions framework to deliver a seamless facility commissioning and turnover process that focuses on the end user (i.e. the R&M/Operations) for theentire regional portfolio of projects. This will enable early identification of risk to personnel, environment, facility and equipment, schedule and budget, as well as all Stakeholder reputation.The incumbent will be able to develop a planned and structured delivery to the Facility Operator that starts during the early project stages and seamlessly progresses through the Pre-construction, Design/Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Pre-commissioning& Commissioning and Turnover phases. Would you like an opportunity to travel and work in multiple EU countries and cultures The role will be based in UK with 40% of time traveling either domestically or to other EMEA countries Key job responsibilities• Responsible for the application of Project quality management systems during the planning and execution of Commissioning and Turnover project phases, adapting them to the specific needs and any unique risks. • Ensure the verification of KPI during the entire project activity. Responsible to provide periodic review of for the regional portfolio of projects commissioning and turnover status. • Supervise the development and implementation of detailed execution plan for non-energized, energized testing activities, including schedule and budget fully integrated with the project schedule and budget. • Accountable to deploy to the project an electronic turnover database and steward document review following established turnover processes. • Responsible to progressively audit general contractors to verify adherence to project, industry and job specific requirements. • Liaise with Construction Manager, RME, facility Operations to define and implement the project turnover philosophy. • Accountable to drive general contractor progress to completion of construction and commissioning work fronts, including field construction, commissioning documentation and deficiencies. • Organize and lead the final walkdowns of systems, responsible for Punch list creation and categorization and verification of completion of punch items where necessary (risk based). • Support groups like Regulatory, Document Control, Quality Assurance, Field Engineering, Construction Project Engineering and RME/Facility Operations for technical interface and issues resolution. • Coordinates the preparation of the detailed area commissioning plans. • Inspect and ensure all construction activities are completed prior to taking up the system for commissioning and ensure the setting up of safety procedures for the same. • Constantly monitor to identify and communicate to Construction team on any priority areas of work to accomplish smooth commissioning activities. • Responsible for the overall Commissioning team and to oversee the recruitment, mobilization, training, supervision and de-mobilization of personnel. • Responsible for the safe and timely execution of all Commissioning activities and integration of these activities with both Project and Operations. • Responsible for managing interfaces with Construction and Commissioning Managers and their respective teams. • Coordinates with Design and RME to ensure that Commissioning deliverables are met. • Ensures Commissioning input into PO’s for meeting Completions and Commissioning requirements. • Responsible to ensure that all documentation relevant to the Construction and Commissioning phase is received by the Project. This includes, but not limited to O&M manuals, Training materials, Engineering databases for O&M systems upload, spares lists andspares. • Responsible for the coordination of vendor/supplier representatives required during Commissioning. • Responsible for the development and communication of the requirements and timing for materials, resources and external services for Commissioning and ensures these requirements are secured. • Works closely with the Project Team and PMO to ensure the requirements for the Commissioning phase are clearly communicated and understood. • Leads daily and weekly progress review meetings. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:London, GBRBASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Completed Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management - Construction leader within significant experience within the industry - Quality/Commissioning Surveyor- Master’s degree in engineering or construction managementPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience in the use of procedures and workflows in the execution of projects• Experience in the use of Completions Management Systems (databases)• Functional knowledge of all project discipline systems, design and reporting processes• Good working knowledge of design review and reporting technologies• Clear thinker, able to divide a job into small logical steps• Fluency in English• Additional language is a plus : German, French, Polish, Arabic are considered preferred qualificationsAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
