Job Description

Job IntroductionOur Skanska Costain STRABAG joint venture team is working in partnership with HS2 to deliver the new London tunnels from Euston to West Ruislip. Our joint venture team is working on sites at Euston, Old Oak Common and West Ruislip, building tunnels 13 mileslong and up to 50m deep, supporting delivery of HS2 phase one.We are looking for aConsents & Engagement Coordinatorto join ourHS2team onsite inLondon. You will be responsible for supporting the projects communications strategy and help deliver our plans for engagingwith all stakeholders, the local community and the public.Role ResponsibilityResponsibilities:

  • Support the development of an integrated community engagement and public relations strategy for the whole project
  • Engage proactively with the interface and delivery teams to review construction impacts and minimise effects on stakeholders
  • Support HS2 to promote a positive image of the project and raise public awareness of the benefits of the project
  • Support the Community and Stakeholder Engagement teams in coordinating information and messaging via the full range of media channels across the project, helping to draft materials, deliver training and briefings, undertake event management e.g. drop-ins,exhibitions

Package DescriptionRoleReporting to the Senior Engagement Manager, the Consents & Engagement Coordinator (CEC) will support the projects communications strategy and help deliver our plans for engaging with all stakeholders, the local community and the public. The CEC will provideadministrative support to both the Community Engagement team, Stakeholder Engagement team, and Consents specialists, managing information systems that best meets the needs of the team and our client, but will also get involved with delivering messages to thecommunity via newsletters, letter drops and also by supporting face-to-face public events. There will be opportunities to get involved in our Legacy strategy and community investment activities, community and schools volunteering and also opportunities forprogression within the Community and/or Stakeholder Engagement teams.The post will require an individual who can understand the needs of the project team having face-to-face contact with all different members of the community and local stakeholders whilst appreciating the wider context of the needs of the client.The CEC will proactively protect the clients, the companys and the projects reputation within the community, working alongside SCS delivery teams within the community to ensure stakeholder concerns are understood and addressed as far as possible, helpingto ensure that the project overall behaves as a considerate neighbour.About the CompanyThe role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UKs new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst foreconomic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UKs10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed servicesThe Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 Main Civils Contracts which include bothLots S1 (Euston Tunnels & Approaches) and S2 (Northolt Tunnels). The combined value of the contracts isaround £1.8billion with the works due for completion in 2025. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels(TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworksand the construction of site compounds.Youll be a welcomed member of the wider team, with opportunities to take on additional responsibility,join one of our networks for women, military or LGBT+ staff, and participate in cultural and social eventswith the local community (e.g. as a STEM ambassador).Your personal and professional development is important to us.
