Job Description

We are recruiting for a Conference Producer to join our Tech Portfolio, we are searching for someone who can produce high-quality research to ensure we provide innovative, year-round content.At GovNet, we create communities through events.We run exhibitions, conferences, and training courses that serve and improve the communities we are passionate about. We are experts with a deep understanding of the evolving challenges these communities face and we have made it our mission to help them.We are proud of the impact we’ve made on our markets, from education to healthcare to emerging tech.About the PortfolioWithin the portfolio, there is a distinct group of products that cater for technology in the public sector, and such products include Digital Government Expo London and Digital Government North Manchester. Other confexes include the Modernising Justice event,the Anti-Fraud event, to name a few.What We Are Looking For:The Conference Producer supports the production of large-scale events, webinars and networking events whilst contributing to the 365 content strategy. You will work independently to research, validate, write, and manage events and related content targetedat public sector technology professionals. The role also supports the Head of Content in the development of new ideas, product initiatives and potential new launches that support the portfolio.Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, and produce original, and compelling events for GovNet Tech portfolio.
  • Monitoring and meeting key event deadlines and targets.
  • In-depth industry research via telephone, online and in-person to ensure that the conference content, speakers, and topics align to market wants, needs, developments, and commercial objectives.
  • Utilise research to create commercial event agendas
  • Presenting back to the team on research findings and sponsorship opportunities in the event’s agendas to inform event inventory
  • Understanding the commercial nature of the sector, its key players and buy-side - sell-side relationships
  • Selecting, inviting, confirming, and maintaining relationships with high-profile speakers across numerous public sector organisations/bodies. Quickly gain an understanding of organisations and individuals key for each event.
  • Demonstrating evidence of successful relationship and collaboration building with partner organisations, clients, and speakers from both public and private sectors.
  • Collaboratively work with session sponsors to create a session that meets client objectives as well as delegate needs.
  • Produce detailed competitor checks for each event that you manage.
  • Input into event plans and sign-offs from a content perspective
  • Demonstrate effective communication and ability to build close working relationships with internal marketing, sales, and operations teams.
  • Participate in and initiate client and stakeholder-facing meetings as required.
  • Play a key role in the development, delivery, and proofing of conference collateral (speaker guide, website copy, event app copy) demonstrating the knowledge of the brand voice and tone.
  • Independently deliver/manage face-to-face events and webinars.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on content marketing initiatives that involve speakers such as blogs, Q&As, and insight pieces.
  • Assisting developing individuals within the team including helping new starters.
  • Responsibility for reporting on and meeting deadlines and targets in line with divisional performance targets.
Essential Skills and Experience:Essential
  • 2+ years of events production experience ideally within technology, or an area relating to this
  • Effective organisational skills, ability to prioritise work, effectively manage their time, and meet numerous deadlines.
  • Ability to present written work in a clear and concise manner following brand voice and best practices
  • The ability to demonstrate clear research, writing, editing, and communications skills - taking on board information and presenting this back in the form of written work that is concise, engaging, and commercially viable
  • Organisational skills to prioritise work, effectively manage their time and meet numerous deadlines on a weekly basis
  • A creative individual who can digest information and trends and present this back in the form of innovative ideas and solutions
  • An individual who is comfortable working under pressure, to deadlines and is motivated by targets and success
  • A team player who works harmoniously as part of a group but who also works well independently with minimal guidance and supervision
  • A competitive individual who is constantly looking to improve themselves and is looking to push themselves and take a step up in their career within public policy and events.
