Are you a graduate looking for an opportunityDo you think you could be interested in a role where you provide fair answers to complex problemsInvestigator Contract: permanentSalary: £28,900 plus excellent benefitsLondon docklands - currently our entire team is working remotely, but when we return to the office, we will be looking at how we can work flexibly including potential to work from home 1-2 days per weekThe roles are available on a full time and part time basis. Please contact our team if you wish to apply for this role on a flexible basis.At the Financial Ombudsman Service, we make decisions on a range of complex and difficult issues. Every year we resolve hundreds of thousands of disputes between consumers or small businesses and their financial service providers - and if we believe a customerhasnt been treated fairly, we can step in to put things right.We are currently looking for a number of talented graduates to join our service in October. Youll spend six months in our academy that we have built specifically for graduates to develop the skills thatll help you to find answers that are fair and feelfair.In the investigator role, youll investigate complaints about financial products and services. Working in a targeted environment as part of a small team supported by an ombudsman manager, youll be accountable for investigating things thoroughly and gettingto the heart of our customers complaints.Building on your existing skills, youll learn to listen carefully to both sides, ask the right questions and use sound judgement - as well as drawing on the expertise and knowledge of those around you.Youll need to build trust, manage expectations and explain what you think, and why - both in writing and over the phone.   • Ability to demonstrate that you can make effective decisions and have
accountability for decisions that you have made.
  • Ability to evaluate evidence using your sound judgement skills and empathy
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, targeted environment with experience of having to prioritise an ever-changing workload
  • Excellent communication service skills- confident with both written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership for your own
Desirable CriteriaWere especially looking for recent graduates with any of the following:
  • A degree completed in 2020/2021 within an analytical evidence-based subject. This may include but is not limited to Law, History, English, Psychology, Sociology.
