Job Description

A fantastic opportunity to join a global business (over 250k employees) as a Compensation Director UK&I and Europe. You will join the firm at a time of strategic change and in a new role.Client DetailsMy client is a globally recognised consulting and technology business with over 250,000 employees. They are most active across the UK, Germany and BENELUX countries as well as the US and work with a large number of FTSE and NASDAQ listed organisations.DescriptionAs the Compensation Director UK&I and Europe you will take on a Subject Matter Expert / Strategic role within the firm. You will lead a team of 6 in-country compensation managers across the UK&I/Europe.You will have the following internal / external stakeholders;

  • Internal - HRBPs, TPG, HRSS, Business Leadership, Operations, Work Council Rep & Others
  • External - Payroll, Vendor Partners, Compensation Network Groups
You will be primarily responsible for the design, implementation & ongoing evaluation of organisation compensation programs including base pay, bonus and other items of compensation. You wont be involved in benefits as this role has a specific compensationfocus. You will Lead the compensation function for the region and works with HR and other stakeholder groups to deliver compensation strategy that attract and retain top talent. Ensure equitable pay, parity and compliance to local legislation. Monitors compensationprogram effectiveness and recommends necessary changes to stay competitive and to further align with the firms global stated compensation philosophy. Maintain and review of the firms compensation formal salary range structures to ensure competitiveness.Serve as a consultant on compensation issues to internal stakeholder groups and partners with vendor organisations to stay updated with competitive pay practices
  • Providing consultative support to HRBPs /TPGs and business as required on compensation process and policies
  • Seamless delivery of annual merit, bonus & other cycles in alignment with global and local standards/ statutes
  • Translating global compensation programs/ policies to HRBPs, & communicating change using change management methodology
  • Ensuring front line manager enablement & HRSS capability to supports seamless query management
  • Partnering to articulate employee and line manager communique and ensuring cascade of key global messages across to relevant stakeholder groups
  • Providing feedback to comp peers to refine and improve global compensation standards basis relevant analytics
  • Designing and delivering local comp programs & ensure alignment to global programs likewise contextualise global programs where appropriate to suit local regional nuances
  • Bench-marking and embedding regional market variations in comp packages & ensuring implementation of best practices from time to time
  • Embedding the firms skill framework and closely monitor industry trends on skill, pay progression and related models to ensure organisation/ regional business competitiveness
  • Networking with local and regional compensation forums to stay connected with Industry compensation trends and practices
  • Monitoring local regulations to ensure alignment of global standards with local law
  • Coordinating with HRBP/TPGs to facilitate offcyle comp. reviews / implement comp offerings
  • Working with hiring teams to ensure hiring grid competitiveness keeping purview the firms stated position
  • Implementing controls to govern policy, process and budget usage and continuously monitor key risks and focus on mitigation
  • Stakeholder experience and tracking policy / program effectiveness through pulsing, feedback and service delivery governance calls.
ProfileThe successful candidate for this newly created Compensation Director UK&I and Europe position will have Director level experience in compensation spanning the UK&I and at least one other European location. This could be from a mix of both or an individualcareer based in-house or in a global consulting firm.You will need to have gravitas and be an influencer / Subject Matter Expert in the compensation field and ideally have experience in organisations with a large headcount of professional employees.In summary you will have;
  • Knowledge & Experience of Compensation design, structuring, market pricing
  • Strong Design, Analytical & Problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of European legislation and work council practices
  • Experience of working in Global IT services organisation
  • Experience in compensation tool/ systems implementation
  • Change Management experience
  • Demonstrated team leadership, partnership, influencing, and communication experience
  • Strong verbal and written presentation skills, including ability to prepare talk track and presentation for/to audiences at all levels of the organisation
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Workday / Success Factor is a plus
Job OfferThe successful candidate for the Compensation Director UK&I and Europe role will be offered a competitive salary £100,000 and £130,000 + Bonus and Benefits.
