Outreach WorkerLondon (Various Locations)ASAP StartTimeplan Education are currently supporting an independent SEN school in East London. They support children and young adults aged 7 - 19 with an EHCP for Autism, SEMH and associated complex needs. They are currently recruiting several experienced Outreachworkers across London to work full time within the community. At present they have openings in North, East, South and West London. Candidates will be given a cohort of students to support, and everyone must be willing to travel and spend time each Friday at the schools main site in E16.The selected applicants will have previous experience with Autism, Behavioural and mental health difficulties. You will be required to support children and young adults within the community who have CAMHS referrals and have experienced high levels of trauma. You will meet students at home or within the community either on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis to assist with work. Workand activities will be tailored to the needs of the student. As the student becomes more engaged with learning, you will work with teachers and outside agencies to reintegrate students back into school and full-time education. Many of the students are disengaged, therefore you will need to be resilient and calm, preparing to put in the time required to build relationships with the students you support.Attributes that work well include being a good listener, calm, resilient and a good communicator. The school is very therapeutic in its approach, working closely with therapists, families, and outside agencies to support students to overcome their mental health difficulties, while working to gain the best academic outcome. For candidates who commit, the school can offer excellent rates of pay, as well as a friendly and stable working environment. The school current has opportunities across London, including other parts of East London, West London, and Watford. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
