Job Description

With the recent announcement that £205 million of government funding will be made available to invest in community sports facilities across England in the next three years, the Football Foundation is well-supported to continue to invest in pitches andcommunities across the nation. This investment will be used by the Football Foundation to target communities up and down the country who will benefit most from access to better sports facilities.To help us with this important mission, we currently have a vacancyfor a Communications & Public Affairs Executive to play a key role in raising the profile of the Football Foundation. This is a great opportunity if you have experience of working in a communications or public affairs role or environment to use your skillsto support grassroots community football.About the Football FoundationWe are the Football Foundation - the Premier League, the FA and governments charity delivering upon a shared vision to help communities improve their local football facilities through ourinvestment. We are the only example of a partnership between a national Government and a national sport coming together to support communities throughout the country.Over the last 20 years we have been planting the seeds to grow grassroots football, transformingcommunities where demand is greatest, and the impact will be strongest. We have worked closely with local authorities, County FAs and other passionate people in communities up and down the country to deliver over 17,000 sports projects worth over £1.8 billionand weve got big plans to revolutionise Englands grassroots facilities over the next decade.The roleOur Communications & Public Affairs Executive will support our Marketing and Communications Manager to identify media opportunities and devise strategiesto place these in media, driving positive coverage and an increased awareness of the investment and work of our funding partners. This will mean building relationships with key media contacts, supporting our applicants and partners, working with colleaguesto identify case studies and conducting interviews to demonstrate the impact of our funding on communities across England. Due to the breadth of the role and the variety of the projects, you can expect it to be an exciting role, with no two days the same.Withthe additional investment in community sports facilities, we have a great deal to get done, but how we do it matters too. You must have relevant experience or a degree qualification preferably in Marketing, Public Affairs, Media, Communications or Journalism. Were looking for applicantswith experience of working in a communications or public affairs role/environment, with a track record of successful delivery of public affairs and communications. You must have knowledge of politics and the parliamentary process, along with excellent communicationsskills and experience of working with media monitoring services and journalist databases.For full details of the role and requirements, please download our recruitment pack below.What can we offer youThe salary band for this role is £29,000 - £35,000 perannum, dependent on relevant skills and experience. You will start on 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (which increases after 2 years), plus additional time off to volunteer.
