Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Comms Project Manager will lead the delivery of WIGs key communication priorities in 2022/23. Supported by the wider MarComms team, the postholder will improve the means and methods of how we communicate withour members and new audiences; initiating new communications projects, campaigns and collateral that will help WIG engage its audiences more effectively. This role will suit someone who is a self-starter, understands the power and impact of effective communications,and is keen to action new comms projects that will set WIG up well for the future.Role ResponsibilitiesOver the 2022/23 financial year, WIG has identified some key comms projects that the Comms Project Manager will be responsible for shaping and delivering. These include:Reviewing and redeveloping our communications and marketing collateral across the organisation; this will include planning, copy writing and working with a design agency to produce collateral as necessary;

  • Evolving our library of case studies, through written and video content, so that we can better demonstrate our impact and tell our story;
  • Working with our website agency to evolve our website so that it incorporates a number of new features that will improve customer experience;
  • Planning and executing photography shoots, with a photographer, to improve our bank of visual assets.
As well as the above key projects, broader role responsibilities will include:
  • Line management of a Senior Comms Executive - supporting them with their objectives and development - and dotted line management of a Marketing & Data Executive;
  • Ownership of WIGs MarComms calendar, ensuring the plan for the year is delivered and kept up-to-date;
  • Working closely with colleagues across the organisation to plan, execute and review cross-channel communications campaigns to promote opportunities to our members;
  • Ownership of core brand communications activity, including our eNewsletter and social media channels, with delivery supported by the wider MarComms team;
  • Supporting teams with adhoc copy drafting, reviewing and editing and acting as brand guardian;
  • Contributing to WIGs internal EDI steering group and ensuring that our communications represent the diverse community we serve.
