Job Description

Signature Recruitment are working on an exciting opportunity with our client, a prestigious central London University, as a Communications Officer! This role will be on a full time, temporary basis for 3 months, and will be hybrid with 2 days in the officeand 3 days working from home.The successful candidate will be focusing on web and related social media content to support a medical faculty with 5 different departments. You will be skilled in using content management systems, have an excellent attention to detail, and will be ableto work flexibly, adapting to changing situations. If this sounds like it fits your skills then please read on!Communications Officer Main Responsibilities:

  • Raising the profile of the faculty and its departments with external audiences through a strong web presence
  • Supporting the development of new web pages and creating and uploading web content including news stories, people profiles, research activities, events listings
  • Managing web changes and ensuring consistency in quality control of web content
  • Providing advice, guidance and practical support for departments in managing their web pages and social media channels
  • Keeping up to date with developments in the internal University content management system and web structure
  • Creating and curating content for internal and external channels including social media, faculty news pages and digital screens
  • Social media management (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter), scheduling posts through Hootsuite and monitoring their analytics
  • Answering email/phone/in-person queries on communications from departments and external users
Communications Officer Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Familiarity with content management systems for websites (Contensis would be a bonus)
  • Strong writing and proofing skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to work with many different teams
  • Able to use and manage social media channels.
  • Ability to interpret complex information
  • Efficient time management skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
