We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.Position: Planning and Communications Manager, Conferences & EventsLocation: LondonContract type: Full Time, Fixed TermHours: 35 per weekSalary: £31,982 to £34,925 depending on skills and experience, plus London allowance of £3,600Closing date: 2 March 2020Interview date: w/c 9 March 2020About the role:The Planning and Communications Manager plays a pivotal role in delivery of the strategic objectives of the Conference and Events function, whilst working with the team to lead on the operational processes which underpin the delivery of a top-class portfolio of events, including Alzheimer’s Society Annual Conference (ASAC20). The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for event project plans, including communication management and stewardship journeys; digital marketing; delegate and data management; budget management, evaluation and reporting.This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of high performing function in the growing Marketing and Communications Directorate. Reporting to the Head of Conferences and Events, the post holder will support in the delivery of ASAC20 and other key events, which support the Society’s strategic ambitions, stimulate the dialogue about dementia and engagement in our work and mission.About you:We are looking for someone with experience of successful strategic management in all the operational aspects of event project planning for a varied portfolio of Conferences and Events, preferably with experience of working within the third sector.This role also calls for someone with experience of relationship building and senior stakeholder management to deliver projects; excellent analytical, budgeting and reporting skills; running successful digital event campaigns and proven project management skills across multiple projects/events running simultaneously.The post holder will have experience of delegate management, speaker management, event registration systems (eg; Cvent and Crowdcompass), finance and accounting functions and programme updates. They will have managed email marketing campaigns including copywriting and design and delivered HTML and web copy using digital marketing tools, such as DotDigital.We are looking for a motivated self-starter and problem-solver who seeks out opportunities of benefit to the Society and our mission to improve the quality of life for people with dementia and those who care for them.You may have experience of the following: Communications Manager, Comms Manager, Conferences, Events, Events Manager, PR, Marketing Manager, Communications Officer, Marketing, Health, Social Care, Third Sector, Charity, NFP, Not for Profit, Health and Social Care, Mental Health etc.
