Press Officer - Associate, Corporate Communications Job Description The Fitch Group Corporate Communicationsteam is currently seeking an Associate-level candidate for a Press Officer role based in London, supporting media activities throughout EMEA. The Fitch Group Corporate Communications team is responsible for helping to protect and advance the firms reputation,through the promotion of Fitchs research, ratings and thought leadership. We frequently work with a wide variety of global media, including: top tier global print/broadcast outlets, business and trade media and national and local newspapers. The global teamis responsible for supporting all of Fitch Groups businesses spanning more than 30 countries. We seek to optimize Fitchs visibility through topical, timely and effective communications. This is a growth role with opportunities for promotion and career developmentfor the right candidate over time. As part of an integrated team, you will also work closely with specialists in marketing, internal communications, content distribution and web teams to deliver optimal visibility for a range of stakeholders. Responsibilities Partner with Senior Director on the execution and management of media relations supporting three analytical practices and businesses, with the opportunityto assume full, independent responsibility at the appropriate time. These groups are: Fitch Solutions Industry Research and Fitch Ratings Non-Bank Financial Institutions and Islamic Finance groups. Promotion of relevant new research and commentaries, handlingin-bound media enquiries and developing contact programs for senior spokespeople. Management of press lists, overflow support for team members with press release distribution and preparation of media briefings. Compilation of daily media summary for the EMEAregion. Media monitoring, measuring and reporting, including compiling ad-hoc campaign and monthly reports on media activity and results. Identify media opportunities including editorial calendars, topical themes, journalist moves and emerging trends. Partneringwith colleagues across Fitch Group Marketing (including Employee Communications, Events, Marketing, Video and Web teams) to maximize impact of media results. Contribute to writing projects, under supervision of Senior Director, including pitches, press releases,white papers and op-eds. Personal Characteristics Results-oriented self-starter with strong verbal, writing and interpersonal skills. A team player who can coordinate effectively with colleagues and has the ability to maintain composure and quality work whileunder deadline in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable assuming responsibility and accountability for projects. Adept at managing self, time and priorities effectively. Qualifications: Bachelors degree. Previous communications experience in an in-house oragency role (financial services, professional services, B2B), with a clear desire to further develop a career in capital markets/financial services public relations.
