Job Description

Are you a passionate and experienced Communication Support Worker with at least a Level 3 BSLThis school near Balham South London has nearly 100 students between 10-19 years old who are deaf. Its more than just a school, you are more than just a Communication Specialist and the students are more than just students. The community spirit is strong because there are other services the school offers like adults education, teaching sign language and they even open their doors to local clubs and groups to teach dance, fitness, sports and so much more. Your development and happiness is important to them so they will ensure you are given the platform to share your passions with the students. In the past theyve had people teaching Netball, Basketball, Dram and more!Benefits for you:

  • Help with lesson planning, safeguarding and empowering students in class
  • Support the Teaching and Leadership team in attainment targets
  • Be a role model to students with communication needs, speech difficulties and who are deaf... they dont just want a Teaching Assistant, they need a role model, mentor and someone who they can look forward to seeing every day
  • Work to support young learners so they learn in the most suitable way for them as individuals
  • What is required
  • A BSL level 2 qualification minimum
  • Current DBS or willing to undergo checks
  • Full time availability Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm (additional training on Wednesdays until 5pm)
