Job Description

Investigo are delighted to partnering with a Tech based travel company in their search for a Commercial Finance Manager. Responsible for managing the groups cost base and capital expenditure to support our growth ambitions and drive efficiencies to maximiserevenue per fixed cost. Continuously develop our planning tool (Anaplan) to deliver a best-in-class FP&A platform for the SMT to analyse their cost base, whilst working in a collaborative manner to accurately budget and forecast on a rolling basis. The businessis on a journey to implement a more disciplined and structured approach to spending, as we reinvest back into the business and look to capture the opportunities available in a post COVD world. This will involve setting up an investment committee to understandwhere resources are best placed to drive the highest ROI. It is critical for the successful candidate to thrive in hitting deadlines, working collaboratively with senior stakeholders whilst continuously improving processes and controls to deliver a robustsystem of cost management throughout the business.Reporting

  • Set up and run monthly meetings with department heads to review how actual and projected spend is tracking vs budget/forecast
  • Produce departmental stakeholder reporting including board pack and headcount/ salary analysis
  • Build enhanced reporting on overheads as required
  • Review monthly payroll to ensure staff costs is accurately reflected
  • Become the subject matter experts for departments to advise where costs would sit within the P&L and their accounting treatment
Budgeting/forecasting
  • Deliver the annual budgeting process in line with predetermined timelines
  • Manage the rolling forecast and quarterly forecast process with the SMT to ensure costs are in line with budget and any deviations clearly understood
  • Responsible for delivery of the investment committee to manage spend decisions above budget/forecast
  • Collaborate with SMT to ensure people forecasts are accurate with correct start dates/ recruitment fee funnels and enable the budget holder to perform what if analysis
  • Be the Anaplan superuser for overheads - understand how the model is built for budgeting and forecasting purposes and where improvements can be made
Business Partnering
  • Work with all departments to develop KPIs to track productivity and benchmarking
  • Ensure SMT members have the financial support to make decisions regarding their cost base decisions
  • Link costs to the product roadmap which drives our company initiatives
  • Proactively look for opportunities to integrate closer with the business and steer initiatives from a financial stand-point
Skills required
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Strong business partner experience, managing a range of senior stakeholders
  • Proven experience of delivering process improvements utilising systems to automate in a robust and scalable manner
  • Proven experience of delivering Board and EMT/SMT quality presentations in a clear and compelling manner
  • Extremely diligent and delivers on time and gets things right first time
  • A very technical and astute individual but capable of seeing the bigger picture and spotting inconsistencies
  • Organised, task focused and will go the extra mile to get things done
  • Strong systems and IT skills covering G-suite (G-Sheets, G-slides), MS Excel, Anaplan (desirable), Looker (desirable), SQL (desirable), Sun (desirable)
  • Experience in travel industry and/or ecommerce (desirable)
