Colour Chemist Up to £47,000 DOEBased in North LondonA highly innovative and entrepreneurial organisation based in London are keen to recruit a dynamic and creative Colour Chemist to lead a novel R&D project involving dyes. Being a part of this exciting, scientific business, you will work with cross-functional teams such as marketing and materials science to create industry leading products.Applicants must have practical experience working with functional organic dyes and experience with chromic compounds would be a huge advantage!Key Duties:* Working in collaboration with project team members to plan and deliver the R&D for a new, unique colour chemistry project* Develop, modify and test organic dyes and stains for their compatibility in formulations and tailoring their properties for optimum performance* Working in the lab, performing experiments and solving lab-based problems using your own initiative* Follow project plans to time and budget, delivering a new technology area for the business and being the lead of this project* Working closely with R&D teams to continuously search and vet other application areas for novel dye technologies to boost the companys strategic focusKey Requirements: * PhD in Chemistry with an organic heterocycle or colour specialism* Practical experience in the evaluation and use of organic dyes and novel colourants * Strong understanding of how functional organic dyes and stains work in biological applications and how they interact with other materials* Enthusiasm for lab work, analysis and testing* Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team to meet deadlines Required skills
