Job Description

Cloud Data Solutions Architect with a minimum of 7 years in systems development and implementation and 2 years + hands on cloud based data solutions is needed by this global leading IT consultancy. You will be based in their London offices working on large exciting cloud data projects.They are looking for candidates with a broad set of technology skills to be able to design and build robust Big Data solutions for big data problems, in the context of high-scale or distributed systems.Essential Experience:

  • Significant experience overall, with minimum of 7 years in systems development and implementation
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with cloud-based data solutions on Google Cloud Platform And/ Or Azure Cloud Platform
  • Relevant Certifications from
  • GCP such as Professional Cloud Architect and/or Professional Data Engineer
  • Azure such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert and/or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
    • You will ideally have experience with:
  • Hands-on designing and implementing data warehousing solutions on cloud platforms and big data technology stack - specifically implementing data ingestion and data wrangling applications, reporting applications, custom analytics, data migration from existing data stores on-prem to cloud, infra and storage design.
  • Hands-on experience in developing & implementing large-scale Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence and MDM solutions, including Data Lakes/Data Hubs; Hands-on experience with "productionalizing" Cloud Data Solutions (e.g. administration, configuration management, monitoring, debugging, and performance tuning)
  • GCP and/or Azure with demonstrable knowledge and data related services exposure
  • Hands-on experience with "productionalizing" Cloud Data Solutions (e.g. administration, configuration management, monitoring, debugging, and performance tuning)
  • Supporting business development activities to shape and communicate proposed solutions to client executives and architects, interacting with senior Programme/client architects
  • Preparing key design decisions, and an ability to demonstrate structured consideration of multiple options (comparing competing technologies, functional design approaches etc) is required; developing capacity plans for new and existing systems
  • Broad knowledge of core business and processes in one or more of the industries of Life Sciences, Retail, Banking, Insurance
    • Core Technical Experience:
  • Hands-on in-depth experience of GCP and Azure from a Data Architecture / Data Engineer perspective
  • Hands-on experience in Data Integration patterns and the design of AI/ML data solutions using specific services from Azure and/or GCP
  • (If Azure specialized) Hands-on experience in Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks, Dataflow, Dataproc
  • Previous experience with high-scale or distributed RDBMS (e.g. Teradata, Netezza, Greenplum, Aster Data, Vertica, DB2, Oracle)
  • Data Management experience, such as Master Data Management, Reference Data Management, Data Governance, Data Integration and Data Security
    • Preferable Experience:
  • Experience with related/ complementary open source software platforms and languages (e.g. Java, Linux, Apache, Perl/Python/PHP, Chef)
  • Hands-on experience with ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) tools (e.g Informatica BDM, Talend, Pentaho)
  • Knowledge / Hands-on experience with BI tools and reporting software (e.g. Qlik, PowerBI)
  • Hands-on experience with the Big Data stack (e.g.SPARK, MapReduce, Hadoop, Sqoop, Pig, HBase, Hive, Flume)
  • Hands-on experience with the No-SQL (e.g. MongoDB, HBase, Cassandra, CosmosDB, Synapse, Big Query, Big Table)
