We are a partnership of two specialist hospitals which are known throughout the world for their expertise, standard of care and research success.Clinical Fellowships at Harefield Hospital in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia (with Intensive Care) (Trust Grade SpR equivalent)It would be ideally suited to those wishing to pursue a career in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia &/or Critical Care. Consideration will however also be given to all suitable candidates including those already in possession of their CCT or wish to take OOPE. Appropriately qualified overseas applicants would be welcome. Posts are for 6 months duration initially though extensions may be possible.The successful candidates will participate in the provision of all aspects of adult cardiothoracic anaesthesia and/or critical care. Harefield Hospital has an 24-bedded Level 3 ICU and a 5 bedded Level 3 cardiac recovery unit. There is an established consultant delivered teaching programme and excellent research and audit opportunities. The candidate will acquire expertise in transoesophageal echocardiography. The case mix includes organ support for advanced heart and lung failure including ventricular assist devices, ECMO and transplantation.
