As a Barclays Climate Risk Manager, you will play a broad supporting role in helping to protect the bank from material climate risk. To support the development and implementation, your focus will encompass seven key areas to build the infrastructure forthe Climate Risk Principle Risk - Climate Risk Framework, Horizon scanning, Regulatory engagement, Board Risk Committee reporting, Supporting Barclays Annual Reporting Suite, Stakeholder engagement and communications and analysis of transactions. What will you be doing Supporting the team in maintenance and effectiveness of Climate Risk Framework and underlying Climate Financial and Operational Risk Policy Supporting the team in disseminating and implementing standards, and guidance into relevant business areas Supporting Committees, Working Groups and Forums to drive forward environmental and climate change risk Providing support in managing Barclays public disclosures: Environmental Risk, Taskforce on Climate Financial Disclosures (TCFD), ICAAP and Socially Responsible Investor (SRI) returns Supporting the Director and Managing Director of Climate Risk and the broader team in producing materials to represent Barclays position and approach to environmental risk issues Researching, analysing and interpreting developments in the environmental risk arena to understand implications, shape these into standards, best practice or guidance, as appropriate Reviewing and assessing transactions and providing Environmental Risk expertise Contributing to the goals and objectives of the team as required, promoting best practice in the application of tools and techniques for the management of risk What were looking for: Previous experience in a relevant role Ability to recognize environmental risk implications for the Bank Excellent analytical abilities Proficient in the suite of Microsoft Office products, with a focus upon Excel and PowerPoint Skills that will help you in the role: Good stakeholder management skills Forward planner and self-motivator Prior experience in working in Sustainability, ESG or Climate Risk Where will you be workingIn the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links.
