Job Description

Join us as a Climate & Environmental, Social and Governance Vice President

  • This is a great opportunity to act as a market facing centre of excellence on topics across Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors, while actively engaging with Rates trading and sales globally
  • Youll collaborate and lead on various internal climate initiatives with colleagues across NatWest Markets and our Commercial & Institutions (C&I) franchise
  • This is a unique opportunity to develop your executive profile and hone your analytical skills in a critical role for the bank
What youll doAs a Climate & Environmental, Social and Governance Vice President, youll articulate and collate evolving business requirements, building up from existing set, from various front office teams. Youll work with them to understand and convey their requirements,find solutions, and implement them to bridge existing data gaps. Well also look to you to support the Frequent Borrowers frontline teams with ESG structuring capabilities and market intelligence such as product innovation and sustainable lending volumes. Your role will also involve:
  • Developing a strong understanding of sustainability trends and how it applies to various sovereigns, supranational and agencies (SSAs) in Europe, Asia and the US
  • Supporting with the structuring of sustainable financing solutions for clients in alignment with various industry standards and guidance
  • Assessing ESG ratings from multiple agencies and analysing core drivers of scoring, including the Principal Adverse Impact
  • Organising and managing NatWest sustainable financing events for key client groups in the SSA space, as well as participating in various industry working groups and attending sustainable financing industry events
  • Being the champion and conduct teach-ins within front office functions to build awareness around Climate and ESG
The skills youll needTo succeed in this role, youll need front office experience, with a strong understanding of sales, trading systems, and processes. Youll also bring experience of working in financial services, management consulting, audit, ratings agency or in a specialistsustainability role. Ideally, youll also have French or German language skills. Additionally, youll need knowledge of Green Bond Principles, Sustainability Linked Loan Principles, EU taxonomy, International Sustainability Standards Board, the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures and Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation,combined with a knowledge of voluntary and compliance carbon markets. Youll also need:
  • Knowledge of, or an interest in learning about, various capital market products such as FX, interest rate swaps and portfolio management
  • A keen interest for climate and ESG strategies, paired with an awareness of ESG ratings and drivers of scoring
  • A strong understanding of FI and FX products and macro landscape
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • To be comfortable interacting with different stakeholders
  • Demonstrable strong written and verbal communication skills
