The Position The Client Transition Analyst ("CTA") are members of the Client Transition Services Group (CTS) and are responsible for supporting the operational aspects of various client transition events including new mandate fundings, terminations, all asset-in-kindflows and product and portfolio changes, in addition to supporting transition events, asset transfers, and portfolio restructures requested by internal investment teams and portfolio managers. The position places strong emphasis on operational risk managementand control environment. The CTA will work closely with the global relationship teams, investment teams, and numerous other operational functional areas of the firm to ensure a consistent service model in transitioning client assets and to mitigate risk duringthe transition event process. A substantial amount of time will be devoted to external communication with custodian banks, internal investment teams, third party accounting agents, outsourcing providers, vendors, transition managers, and clients. responsibilities

  • Ensure the timely and consistent delivery of account opening documentation for new client accounts
  • Orchestrate custodial and market openings and connectivity both internally and externally as well as coordinating the execution of asset in-kind processing
  • Execute investor driven asset transfers (securities and cash) during benchmark and periodic portfolio rebalances and implementing account restructures required by the investment teams
  • Initiate, review, and approve account record set-up for new accounts or portfolios
  • Provide on-going maintenance of existing account records
  • Facilitate proper use of internal trade restriction flags for our institutional separate and sub-advisory clients as well as Wellingtons fund range
  • Coordinate fund launches, fund closures, share class launches, and related transition events for Wellingtons fund range
  • Provide assistance and training to colleagues as well as act as a global expert for account record set-ups
  • Update process and control checklists
  • Liaison and coordinate with Transition Managers and legacy investment managers where relevant
  • Coordinate the reconciliation of external transition management trade execution files
  • Be a thought partner to Client Integration Managers, Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Coordinators, and Trading in the development and implementation of our client transition strategies
  • Coordinate with Portfolio Management, Trading, and Investment personnel to help facilitate transition events on a pre- and post- event basis
  • Adjust cash and asset transactions related to portfolio rebalances and other portfolio manager allocation shifts
  • Monitor and process daily cash flows and confirm cash flow transactions with custodian banks
  • Maintain awareness of industry, custodian bank, and regulatory change
  • Develop understanding of different jurisdictions, client requirements, and custodian banks
  • Liaise with the Cash Flow Team to coordinate client flow activity, supporting documentation, and best practices
Qualifications
  • Possess broad and proven knowledge of the investment process, custody, fund operations, transfer agency functions, and securities knowledge including derivatives
  • Excellent organizational, project planning, and execution skills including the ability to prioritize effectively and handle multi-tasks under time constraints
  • Proven high degree of analytical ability, strong business judgment and risk awareness
  • Ability to synthesize complex issues and effectively balance competing objectives
  • Previous exposure to investment operations, or financial services operations, in a risk management environment would be preferred
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven service delivery
  • Interest or desire to acquire applicable industry qualifications or an advanced degree would be preferred
