Role & Responsibilities Client development: responsible for pro-actively managing relationships with an allocated number of global institutional clients. This will include ensuring that Client Relationship Directors and other relevant stakeholders are fully briefed and supported, agreed client deliveries are met, as well as responding to ad hoc requests for information and maintaining records on the CRM database. The role will include responsibility for managing the take-on process for new clients and working with the in-house Reporting & Voting and Engagement Support team to ensure that accurate client reporting is delivered to deadline and to a high standard. Will have a keen commitment to identifying, facilitating and monitoring initiatives that relate to the continuous improvement in efficiency and experience across individual country or regional markets as well as the whole client base. Will pro-actively identify market / regional trends and needs and drive relevant initiatives to respond to those needs, appropriately balanced with the requirements of the global client base and the shared service model. To fulfil the functions of the role the job holder will be required to build strong positive relationships with both internal and external clients. Business Development: will support those responsible for sales and business development in furthering the efforts of the sales process. Skills & Experience Required Previous client facing experience working with a global institutional client base is essential. This is likely to have been gained within an asset management company, or alternatively from a financial services or professional services institution, Responsible Investment organisation or from working within an Investor Relations function. Demonstrable experience of working in a fast-paced, team based, client focused environment and must have a passion for client service and business development. Experience of working with CRM databases is required. You should be proactive, diligent and responsible in meeting clients needs; this will require the flexibility and willingness to actively participate in a variety of client or prospect related tasks, such as project management, coordinating responses to ad-hoc requests, editing, and preparation for meetings. An ability to deal with client / prospect matters of an urgent or sensitive nature and the professional sensitivity in dealing with individuals at a senior level is required. The interest and aptitude to identify opportunities for increased efficiencies, opportunities and improved client experience across the client base, as well as individual markets, whilst balancing the sensitivities and commercial realities of a shared service business model. The capacity to then lead initiatives to make and manage changes. Languages are desirable, with German, Danish or Dutch particularly of interest. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in, or preferably have experience of, issues around responsible investment and ESG. Knowledge of the regulatory developments for institutional investors would be useful and previous involvement in the proxy voting process for institutional investors would be advantageous. A university degree is desirable but not a prerequisite. Other relevant qualifications are also desirable, such as the Certificate in ESG Investing or Investment Management Certificate. Candidates must be advanced MS office users (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and have strong literacy and numerical skills.
