Join us as a Client Onboarding SRE Lead

What youll doYoure joining a team thats passionate about the customer vision and delivering a seamless onboarding experience for our Commercial Banking customers. Aligned to our Start and Manage my banking relationship customer goal, youll be working with your colleaguesto deliver the technology strategic roadmap, while ensuring the right balance between our business goals and building future technology, at the right cost. Day-to-day, youll lead, drive and embed the improvement of non-functional and operating characteristics, including availability, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, security, incident response and the capacity planning of our products andservices. Alongside this, youll work with your colleagues and the feature team members to meet our defined service level objectives and improve systems and environments. Youll also contribute to new ideas and innovations to meet our short-term and long-term goals,while balancing and managing risks. Your top priorities will include:
  • Following a data-driven approach to identify, measure and evaluate sources of toil and reducing toil at the source through continuous improvement and the automation of manual tasks
  • Defining error budgets that help to find the right balance between innovation, risk and reliability
  • Planning, managing and delivering larger or complex projects that involve colleagues and teams across our business, while explaining customer value to business stakeholders
  • Owning the testing and validation of integrated release candidates, as well as the deployment with a focus on automating and optimising the release process
  • Scaling systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolving systems by pushing for changes thatll improve reliability and velocity
  • Delivering stakeholder engagement activities to develop effective project working relationships to make sure our stakeholders needs and concerns are identified and met
The skills youll needTo be successful in this role, youll need an in-depth knowledge of reliability systems thinking and experience of software engineering. Youll also need an understanding of deploy and release services, automation and troubleshooting. In addition, youll have experience of utilising tools and technology across the software development lifecycle and using a data-driven and scientific approach to fact finding. Furthermore, youll need:
  • Financial services knowledge and the ability to identify the wider business impact, risk and opportunities to make connections across key outputs and processes
  • Great communication skills and experience of using mathematical and statistical models to assess trends
  • An understanding of the full software stack to support applications
  • Knowledge of programming languages
  • The ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders
