Job Description

EXCLUSIVE ROLE ALERT!We are currently looking for a Client Consultant to join our clients Corporate sales team in their London HQ. This is a great opportunity for someone to influence the decision making and strategy of some of their biggest clients in the corporate space. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high levelof commercial awareness as well as a keen interest in, and knowledge of consultative sales techniques.Our client is a world leader in strategic and tactical business research and analysis. Their reports, analysis and forecasts are considered essentialreading by business leaders for their cutting-edge content, design and usability.whilst clients include the worlds major multinationals, banks, consultancies, libraries and business schools.Role Overview;The Client Consultant plays a critical and unique role and their primary objective is to assist in the prioritization and execution of strategies set by globally focused executives located in Western Europe. Working from a named listof existing Corporate clients within the Global Fortune 500, Client Consultants are expected to expand and create new relationships across client organizations leveraging the entire suite of products and services. This often involves engaging and mapping multiplebusiness units and functions including strategy, consumer insights, marketing, innovation, finance, R&D etc. Solutions can range from specific data and trend analysis, derived from existing syndicated databases to large scale, strategic consulting projectsthat address key business objectives.The Client Consultant primarily wears three hats:

  1. An entrepreneur. As a self-driven and intellectually curious executive, they enjoy hearing challenges from senior executives, questioning to understand the big picture, and then building a solution that involves multiple products and capabilities. Resourcefulness,flexibility and innovation are key characteristics of interest. Being an entrepreneur also requires the ability to allocate internal resources, communicating effectively with internal and regional teams.
  2. A global strategist. Ability to understand and effectively converse about global and broad initiatives with the ability to designate the best short- and long-term partnership opportunities. Creating proactive plans to become a key influencer within clientorganizations.
  3. An experienced and self- driven sales professional. It is important to not only achieve, but take personal accountability to exceed sales targets, looking to establish new ways of entrenching our clients services within existing relationships. The abilityto close deals by building consensus internally and externally while continuing to drive urgency via tangible next steps is vital.
The Client Consultant role is seen as an exciting, challenging, and creative opportunity where you work closely with senior executives to identify strategic priorities, deconstruct internal processes, and assist in building unique solutions for an eliteset of organizations.The relationships you uncover and maintain can yield countless engagements which are further encouraged by a base salary and uncapped commissions. The team philosophy is to become our clients strategic advisors, expanding clients understanding of internationalmarkets and build mutually beneficial relationships within our existing client base.Key Responsibilities;Product/Client Organisation
  • Understand and succinctly explain all our clients databases as well as consulting capabilities
  • Able to apply and design unique solutions using all available resources to address client needs
  • Building relationships, creating a deeper network inside client organizations with consistent and proactive dialogue with multiple decision makers.
  • Able to map, network, and penetrate a clients organizational structure as well as understand key business processes like strategic planning, innovation funnels, and new market entry strategies.
  • Frequently challenge clients to constructively broaden their perspective.
Sales Process
  • Responsible for an annual upsell target as well as assisting to secure contract renewals.
  • Uses a refined consultative approach to identify points of engagement. Going beyond providing data to applying our industry insights for problem solving. Seeking areas to assist with urgent projects but also building consistent, structured and predictablepoints of engagement.
  • Always hunting for new areas our capabilities can be applied
  • Expanding contacts beyond existing sources, developing a tailored value proposition for various areas within an organization
  • Presenting a benefit-led approach to engagement and basis for continued relationship building
  • Assist in the creation of syndicated and consulting proposals
  • Able to use polite persistence to engage difficult to reach senior executives, following through on long term projects as well as identifying multiple ways to assist/address obstacles in the process along the way
  • Negotiation & support of closing syndicated and consulting/ad hoc proposals
Skills / Proficiencies required;
  • Excellence in current role, goal oriented and consistently at or over target
  • 6yrs+ of sales experience, bachelors required
  • Working with Global companies
  • Comfort interacting with Director, VP and C-level executives
  • Solution and value selling acumen
  • Highly organized with excellent time management, managing numerous contacts including scheduling, follow up, and establishing frequent points of interaction.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and diplomacy skills
  • Intellectual curiosity
  • Knowledge of consumer market trends and dynamics are preferable
  • International perspective
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with internal colleagues
  • Willingness to travel (<25%)
