Clerk of Works

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out regular quality inspections of works in progress to ensure compliance with the contract specification and drawings
Attend pre-construction design meetings and other meetings as required
Act as Companys Technical Representative at snagging, de-snag, handover, and defects inspections, attending monthly site meetings
Checking client choice of fixtures, finishes, and appliances on shared ownership schemes
Maintain dialogue with Development Managers advising immediately of any issues of concern
Develop good quality relationships with external partners on-site to facilitate dialogue and resolution of problems.

Skills/Knowledge Requirements:

Must be qualified in a relevant discipline (Civil, Environmental, Engineering, Architecture, or Project Management)
Membership of a relevant professional body. E.g. MICWCI
A sound understanding of architectural and project technical requirements, the development process, and infrastructure.
A strong understanding of current Building Regulations and other regulatory documents within the construction industry.
Understanding of technical drawings and able to relate them to built structures.
Sound knowledge of construction project methodology and the local planning legislation

Keyskills :
