If youhave excellent industry experience and knowledge and a can-do approach to education, this is a fantastic opportunity for you. As a Cleaning Instructor/Tutor, you will deliver engaging WAMITAB accredited cleaning classes to learners who can apply their skillsto gain employment upon release, or to secure a career within custody. You will be part of a committed education team all working to achieve high learner success.As a valued member within our Milton Keynes College Prison Education team, you will help to developa strong vocational programme that meets the needs of the learners, prison and Milton Keynes College.You will be an inspirational and innovated lecturer, who can thrive upon working within a challenging yet rewarding environment, you will have the abilityto offer skills & knowledge to our learners and guide them throughout their courses.MK College will treat all applicants fairly and with respect, irrespective of their background, disability or any other individual characteristic. The Education Department works closely with our prison colleagues to delivermedium to long courses that help prepare learners for employment both within the long-term prison estate and on release to the community. Courses include English and Maths Functional Skills (Entry 2 to Level 2), Business, ICT, Hospitality, Music Technologyand Radio, Painting & Decorating, Horticulture, Construction, peer mentoring and Barbering. This is complemented by a range of courses available through distance learning at level 3 and beyond e.g. Open University, A Levels and BTEC level 3.In the departmentwe believe the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge will help our learners to end their offending behaviour. We engage the hardest to reach learners and encourage them to take pride in their own education and self-development.
