Job Description

Market leading specialty insurer currently seek a Claims Support Unit & Delegated Claims Lead to perform a newly created role within a Claims department aiming to be market-leaders in the provision of an efficient, cost-effective and professional service to brokers and clients. The role reports to the Director of Wholesale Claims.There are six divisions within Wholesale; Cyber, Energy, Marine, Equine, Trade Credit Political Risk and Surety (TCPRS) and Professional and Financial Risks (PFR).The Claims Support Unit (CSU) supports the entirety of the Wholesale claims handling function in both a technical and administrative capacity. The CSU provides vital data reporting, claims triaging, and claims processing functions to ensure the wider claims team consistently meets its performance targets. The CSU works closely with the adjusting teams on a daily basis and provides the Claims Leadership Team with the relevant oversight required. The CSU has primary responsibility for all Wholesale delegated claims arrangements providing critical on-boarding support and performance oversight.Key accountabilities

  • Primary responsibility for all Wholesale delegated claims arrangements including;
  • On-boarding of delegated provider upon completion of pre-approval including requisite due diligence (via CSQ process)
  • Ensuring required contractual provisions are in place for both Company and Lloyds business
  • Oversight of performance including receipt and review of Enhanced MI
  • Ownership and maintenance of the delegated dashboard to ensure accurate reporting of overall delegated claims performance
  • Oversight of annual audit schedule as well as auditing support
  • Ensuring compliance with LIC requirements including document registry within SecureStore and DASATS.
  • Line management of claims technician roles (currently x2) providing critical administrative support to the adjusting function including but not limited to;
  • Creation and distribution of weekly, monthly, quarterly standard claims reports including movement and incomplete transaction reports
  • Manual claims set up and processing and non-bureau claim payments
  • Management of the static claims and purging processes
  • Analysis of claims bordereaux and processing to support the claims adjusting teams
  • Reporting and analysis of expert usage via DOCOsoft and/or Gemini reporting tools
  • General ad-hoc assistance with claims tasks and reporting as required
  • Production of claims packs for Delegated Underwriting Committee (DUC) and Conduct Committee (COCO) including attendance where required
  • Attendance at Claims Leadership monthly meetings
  • Supporting the Claims Director in driving process improvement and operational related matters
  • Liaison and co-ordination with the Wholesale Operations Director and Underwriting Operations as required
  • Skills & experienceThe successful candidate will have/demonstrate:
  • A strong understanding of delegated claims arrangements and contractual requirements (including Lloyds standards)
  • Preferably have experience managing a team or the desire to manage personnel
  • Strong operational skills and understanding of the workings of the London insurance market
  • Have good IT (Microsoft Office) skills, including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook and ability to use or learn our in-house systems
  • Be customer focused, in particular to understand the importance of the quality, clarity and speed of service delivery
  • The ability to work collaboratively but also have the ability to work on own initiative
  • Possess strong independent organisational skills
  • Excellent active listening skills and written and oral communication skills in the English language.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships at all levels across the business.
