About the role As aSocialWorker, you will be provided with support and guidance from experienced colleagues and your Team Manager to develop your practice and grow your confidence in your role. When youre ready, youll have the opportunity to progress into an Experienced Social Workerrole following assessment of a portfolio at a progression panel. Experienced Social Workershandle more complex childrens plans, and you will confidently carry out your duties to safeguard the wellbeing of Devons children. You may even support colleaguesat the early stages of their social work career. About you You will be an advocate for the children and young people youare working with, ensuring each child has an active, up-to-date plan, and young people are supported as they transition to adulthood. You will need to have: a social work qualification and registered with Social Work England satisfactorily completed your Assessedand Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) experience working within social care, including working in a multi-agency and court environment (for experienced social workers only) a high-level of written and verbal communication skills* the ability to build effectiveprofessional relationships with children, families, and other professionals knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to childrens social work exceptional recording and planning skills a valid UK driving licence and accessto a car* If your experience as a social worker is within another sector (such as Adult Social Care), we can support you to transition into children and families social work through our six-month development programme, supported by our Social Work Academy!* Exceptions may apply under the Equality Act What we can offer you As a place to live and work, Devon is hard to beat.
