Chief Technology OfficerLocation: LondonSalary £130-150k plus equityThis fast-growing and dynamic software company in the Legal Tech and Fintech domains assist their clients business structuring with their intelligent visual modelling tool. Founded in 2017, their software is now being used by some of the worlds largestand most prestigious professional services firms and in-house teams.An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join the Senior Leadership Team and to shape and scale their Technology function as they approach their Series A funding and start accelerating revenue and team growth.The RoleThe CTO is accountable for all technical aspects and technological resources within the Company. They establish the technological vision for the companys products, solutions and services and lead the Technology function in delivering this vision.While technically proficient, the CTO must also be a "people-person" - able to work effectively with their peers and colleagues and astute in the leadership and growth of their own team.The CTO should be able to identify competitive advantages and technological trends for the benefit of the company and its customers. A working familiarity with regulatory, information security and intellectual property issues is also important given theindustry we operate in and the customers we serve.The CTO should be an effective communicator able to convey complicated technical goals to non-technical people and make them enthusiastic about the possibilities technology can offer.They currently have a single development squad and would like to have at least three by this time next year. They are looking for someone excited by the challenge of scaling a Technology team to help propel our business and product forwards toreap the opportunities they see ahead.Key Responsibilities

• Work with the Senior Leadership Team to determine company and product strategy
• Represent the software to our customers and partners
• Shape and manage how they grow they companys technical capability including hiring, management and development of engineering staff and the broader Technology team
• Direct and lead a high-performance engineering organisation to plan and execute the development of new products, modify existing designs, improve production operational techniques, and develop test procedures that are executed, embedded and delivered
• Encourage a continuous improvement and delivery mindset with effective application of data and metrics such as velocity, quality and customer satisfaction
• Ensure assigned projects, epics, stories and sprints are completed within budget and to schedule whilst meeting organisation needs and objectives and product design guidelines
• Encourage and drive innovation in working practices and products in both the Technology function and wider team
• Ensure they technologys adherence to and ongoing compliance with ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus as well as applicable laws and other standards
• Promote adoption of technical best practices within the team and third-party suppliers

Experience

• 5+ years of experience managing dynamic high-performance technical teams while coordinating and collaborating with other business functions, able to build connections quickly and influence others
• Experience of the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, utilising Agile, DevOps and modern engineering practices, enabled by major cloud and other platforms, tools and technologies
• A track record of transformation and execution - from defining and executing strategy, to hands-on delivery of transformational programmes and change. Experience in navigating a challenging delivery environment, including governance, risk management anddriving the achievement of outcomes
• Have strong analytical skills, strategic vision and good communication and conflict resolution skills
• Nice to have prior experience working in law, finance, or other regulated industries
