Chief Operating Officer - Fintech - Digital Banking - Payment Solutions£90k to 100k + Bonus + Benefits + Share OptionsLondon, Canary Wharf - Currently RemotePermanentLondon-based Fintech innovator and developer of transformative digital platforms is building unique digital banking and payments solutions in the UK and expanding rapidly into the MENA region is seeking a Chief Operating Officer - COO with experience of taking a start-up to growth.They are looking for a Chief Operations Officer who will be able to hold leadership over all aspects and act as second in command. As the COO, you are ultimately responsible for the overall strategic and operational functions. You will work alongside the CEO and management team to execute the company vision, strategies, challenges, and put effective procedures and resources in place.Main Tasks & ResponsibilitiesChief Operating Officer - Fintech - Digital Banking - Payment SolutionsStrategy and Planning

  • Be responsible for understanding the business roadmap and complex challenges of joining up siloed business functions.
  • Create credible organisational plans and build teams to ensure the business launches with minimal disruption and maximum efficiency. You will put in place efficient and scalable processes to take the company to its next level from start-up to scale-up.
  • You will help join together the technical strategy ensuring all strategic and commercial drivers are considered.
  • Implement a technology strategy that puts digital and automation at the heart of the business including a user and customer-first approach.
  • Effectively put a blueprint of delivery in place to ensure blockers are identified and removed, especially when dealing with technology and gelling together cross-functional and disparate teams and 3rd party suppliers.
  • Plan and monitor the successful implementation of any strategies.
  • Advise key members of Senior Management on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters.
  • Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at select board of directors and committee meetings.
  • Maintaining continuous lines of communication, keeping the Senior Management informed of all critical issues.
  • Operations / Operational Delivery
  • Provide effective and inspiring leadership through active involvement in all programs and services, developing a broad and deep knowledge of all programs.
  • Identifying opportunities for the Company to influence cross-program strengths to take advantage of new opportunities and/or to address organisational challenges.
  • Lead, coach, develop and retain the high-performance Senior Management team with an emphasis on developing capacity in strategic analysis and planning and program budgeting.
  • Prepare and submit annual operational budgets, managing effectively within this budget, and reporting accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.
  • Ensure the continued financial viability of operational units through sound fiscal management.
  • Upgrade and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards and procedures.
  • Planning, coordinating and executing the annual budget process.
  • Essential Skills & Experience:Chief Operating Officer - Fintech - Digital Banking - Payment Solutions
  • Minimum BS/BA degree with proven experience as COO or similar managerial role
  • Must have financial background, ideally within the digital market such as Revolut, Starling Bank, Monzo, PayPal
  • Experience as part of a start-up and able to demonstrate how you helped it grow.
  • Strong work ethic and leadership skills.
  • High factual achievements - growth/financial %.
  • Ideally, experience with growth into international markets.
  • Excellent business judgment and ability to work in a cross-functional role while also thinking strategically and providing practical guidance.
  • Excellent project management skills, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts, analytical skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent public speaking skills and the ability to form great working relationships.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
