Key Areas of ResponsibilityDutiesLeadership, Management and Development To be accountable to the Board for the effective management of the charity Ensure sound financial management and robust external and internal controls Provide leadership on organisational risk management and mitigation Lead, inspire and motivate all staff and volunteers, in particular the SMT Create a positive and values-driven culture across the organisation providing effective line management to direct reports, fostering their growth through coaching and guidance Monitor the performance of the SMT and ensure they receive the training and support to achieve Wandsworth Oasis potential Ensure that the charity has an appropriate management structure and systems in order to fulfil its strategic objectives and carry out its work To ensure all management policies and decisions support the agreed vision, mission and strategic priorities of the charity Cultivate an environment where the team is constantly learning and seeking ways to improve its performance in all areas Ensure that the charitys ethos, values and policies are fairly and consistently implemented Develop and maintain an organisation that attracts and retains the best staff and volunteers whilst creating an environment where everyone is welcome and feels supported.Strategy and Planning Design & implement the 3 year vision and strategy for the charity in consultation with SMT and the Board. Implement and monitor the strategic priorities agreed by the Board Ensure that retail, fundraising and other annual plans underpinning the strategic plan are developed, agreed and implemented Approve and oversee the development / progress of the Retail Strategy in consultation with the Head of Retail (to include the business case for an online operation) Approve and oversee the development and implementation of the Community Fundraising Strategy in consultation with Community Engagement Manager (to include corporate fundraising, Virtual Fundraising, Challenges, Individual Giving, Legacies and Events etc) Take the lead on complex funding bids Identify and implement appropriate methods for monitoring performance against strategy for reports to the BoardExternal RelationsSector Grant ManagementGovernance & Compliance Work with Wandsworth Oasis Board (CEO) Act as an ambassador for the charity, representing, developing and maintaining relationships and networks with key partners, funders and stakeholders Play a key role in building the Wandsworth Oasis brand, reputation and engagement across different audiences Personally develop and build relationships with partners, supporters and funders and seek opportunities to expand and promote the role of the charity and mutually beneficial arrangements Represent Wandsworth Oasis in public forums and drive forward the circular economy and HIV awareness campaigns Plan and implement the annual grants programme Sector liaison and charity relationship management Impact monitoring and reporting Ensure that the charity fulfils all its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities and to carry out the duties of Company Secretary, including the filing of annual reports to the Charity Commission and Companies House Together with the Chair to enable the Board of Trustees to fulfil its duties and responsibilities for the proper governance of the charity Work with the Chair and the Board to ensure they are fully engaged to oversee the strategic development of the charity and to provide high quality governance Draw Boards attention to matters they should consider and discuss Provide information to assist the Board in carrying out its role, responsibilities and duties in accordance with Governance best practice, Charity Commission regulations and the law. Support the Chair in ensuring continued engagement of all Board members Have regular 1-2-1 meetings with the Chair to talk openly, discuss progress and problems, plan and prepare for meetings etc
