Central Film School was founded in 2008 with the objective of providing a practical education in filmmaking to students from all over the world. Since then the School has evolved significantly and now provides short, BA and MA programmes. The School is afully recognised HEP and is on the OfS Register in the Approved (Fee Cap) category. We are a Tier 4 Sponsor with FullPrivileges and our degree programmes commencing 2021 onwards are validated by Falmouth University. The main responsibilities of this role include:Leading on the development and enhancement of the Undergraduate provision at the schoolRecruiting, inducting and supporting tutorsWorking with the Teaching, Learning Support Manager to schedule sessionsConducting tutor observations and coordinating tutor developmentCoordinating/Updating module guides and course documentation with tutors, and ensuring their timely delivery to studentsSupporting students, providing personal tutorials Second-marking assessmentAttending assessment panelsTeaching into at least one module at each level (4,5,6)Ensuring, with the Academic Administrator and Quality department, that academic standards and procedures are followed and maintained. Ensuring students understand academic procedures and policiesParticipating at Academic Board and monthly meetingsChairing Programme Boards and Course CommitteesInterviewing prospective students and assisting across admissions and student recruitment activities (eg reviewing portfolios)Participating in Module and Awards Boards and engaging with our University Partners, Academic Link Tutors and other Collaborative Partner team membersWhere appropriate, supporting the wider academic and student experience teamPerson Specification Essential - have a Level 7 qualification in filmmaking, screenwriting or a related fieldEssential - have a teaching/pedagogic qualification (egPgCHE)Have module and/or course leadership experience in an HE environment Be passionate about delivering a quality academic experience to students Have the experience to bring practice into the learning environment Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and writtenHave a great eye for detail and be very well organizedHave experience working with HE systems and VLEs Be committed to working in a collaborative mannerBe committed to promoting an inclusive environment in the School
