Job Description

Cobalt are working with one of the largest NHS Trusts in London to recruit an experienced interim Catering Manager, for an initial 6-9 month contract paying £32.00 - £38.00 per hour LTD rate (inside IR35, via umbrella company) depending on experience.The successful candidate will make sure that catering services, both retail and patient feeding, are delivered within strict budgetary controls for both internal and external contracts and the needs of the trust in line with governmental initiatives, trustobjectives, and financial efficiency targets. This will be accomplished through strong fiscal management.You will have to/be:

  • A member of the senior facilities management team who will be responsible for overseeing the sites catering operations.
  • Ability to work well under pressure under own supervision.
  • Support the Trusts leadership and administration of the patient and retail catering arrangements.
  • Work with stakeholders and Dietetics in menu planning and implementation.
  • Ensure that the highest level of food Safety (including Allergens) are always maintained
  • keep abreast of new requirements, guidance, legislation and initiatives relevant to catering in a healthcare environment and ensure that processes and procedures are updated accordingly.
  • Communicate with client groups and regularly assess the service being offered to make sure it is still meeting the demands of the customer. to put into practise service standards that take user needs into account.
  • Lead in the reviewing contracts and managing performance of the team and suppliers to the team.
  • Implementation and management of SLAs and relevant KPIs.
  • Ensure that training is provided to staff within the Catering department to maximise the potential of the individual and efficiency of the team, and to identify and address development needs.
  • Actively participate in budget setting and in identifying cost reduction programmes on an on-going basis.
  • Liaise with staff groups and their representatives as necessary.
  • Excellent communications skills at all levels.
