Caseworker - The Solicitors Charityc£37,500 to c£40,500 (dependent on location) rising to c£40,000 to c£43,000 (dependent on location) after successful completion of 6-month probationary period. Flexible working arrangements are possible, including homeworking with occasional attendance in person at meetings. We are currently largely working remotely and also have an office in South West London.Were looking for a full-time Caseworker to join the team at The Solicitors Charity. We are the independent charity that since 1858 has been supporting solicitors and their dependents in times of need or crisis.The Caseworker roleWorking as part of a small team, youll manage a caseload of applicants looking for support from us. Youll have conversations that allow you to take a holistic view of their life circumstances and needs and ensure that we understand what will result in positive change in their lives. Youll gather information and data to allow you to design support packages as well as ensuring due diligence. You will have authority to decide on the awarding of many grants, whilst for others youll make a persuasive case to the charitys Awards Committee of trustees and volunteers.Youll also have the opportunity of being involved in wider projects that help us to develop understanding of how effective our work is and to continue to expand the support we offer.Were looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years direct experience in a client facing role dealing with people who are experiencing anxiety, mental or physical health problems, including those in crisis. You will have at least this length of experience of having difficult conversations often with people in distress. You will also have a working knowledge of the welfare benefits system.The successful candidate will also have the demonstrable skills and experience to: engage with applicants in an empathetic and non-judgmental way, working with complete confidentiality & discretion. gather and analyse a wide, and often complicated, range of beneficiary data and information and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis. summarise recommendations clearly and concisely.
