Job title: Carpenter Job type: Full time, Permanent Working hours: Monday to Friday (39hrs) Pay: £18-£21+ per hour Location: St.Ives, Cambridgeshire *Requires working away* Benefits: 20 days holiday plus 8 days bank holidays (1 day extra per year) Healthinsurance Pension Requirements: The role involves the manufacture of stands, and installation of those stands at exhibition venues around the world but principally in the UK and Europe. The ability, and a willingness to travel extensively and spend significantperiods away from home are essential. Working on-site means that calm problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude are essential. A willingness to learn new skills and the ability to work as a part of a varied team are essential skills. Either both or oneof the following experience: Paint Finishing / Spraying Bench joinery / Carpentry experience Key responsibilities and accountabilities: To produce stands that accurately reflect the design, our clients requirements and Kortens quality standards To ensurethat the materials and hours used in production are minimised and within the budget To accurately record time against customer and internal projects using personal timesheet To accurately record material used against customer and internal projects using materialsheets. Expectations and tasks Interpret designs, with the assistance of the Workshop Manager or colleagues as required, in order to produce and install stands which reflect the clients requirements Communicate effectively with other workshop staff, designersand project managers to ensure that design requirements are clear, and that problems are resolved early and effectively Minimise waste, and work efficiently in order to ensure that stands are delivered within budget Complete documentation including purchaseorders, materials sheets, timesheets and expenses according to agreed administrative policies and procedures Comply with health and safety requirements, maintain good relationships with clients and colleagues and provide excellent and courteous customer serviceUnderstand and comply with the Companies policies in respect of on-site working and expenses To represent Korten in a professional manner at all times Demonstrate a reliable “can do” attitude and willingness to try new methods and equipment.
