Care and Support WorkerPermanent full time role 37.5 hours per week£24,000LambethExciting Opportunity: Lambeth Young Persons Service - Care and Support WorkerAre you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people aged 18-25 If so, Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing (MTVH) has opened a new service within Lambeth, and we are looking for individuals with a proven record of engaging positivelywith vulnerable young people.About the Young Peoples Service:Our service provides housing-related support and interventions to 9 young people facing a range of challenges, including those leaving local authority care, experiencing homelessness, or living in inadequate accommodation. The aim is to offer step up orstep down support from other accommodations as needed, with a strong focus on providing safe, accommodation-based housing support to promote maximum independence.Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage positively with young people aged 18-25, understanding and addressing their unique needs.
  • Provide support services to individuals in shared accommodation, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Support residents in transitioning from other supported accommodation, as appropriate.
  • Prioritize the promotion of maximum independence for each individual.
Requirements for Success:To thrive in this role, youll need:
  • Previous Experience: Proven experience in supporting young people aged 18-25 is essential.
  • Understanding of Diversity: Demonstrate an understanding of what good support looks like, considering age, gender, disability, race, religion, and sexuality.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for supporting customers with relevant paperwork.
  • Passion for Excellence: A genuine passion for providing excellent support, along with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Embrace Core Values: Embrace and support in embedding MTVHs core values in everything the team does.
To meet our commitment to providing safe, high-quality services to our customers we will complete an enhanced background check with the Disclosure and Barring service, which will include a check of the Enhanced Adult & Child Barred list once an offerof employment is made.
