Job Title: Campaigns ManagerHours: 35 hours Salary: £36,434 London based, £33,122 -home basedType of Employment: Permanent Dept and Location: Communications & CampaignsLine Manager: Head of Policy, Public Affairs and CampaignsDirect Reports: N/AJob Description MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOBAdvocacy is a core part of Teenage Cancer Trusts purpose and reason to exist. This new role will be vital to ensuring young people with cancer have a voice and their needs are not only heard but acted on and met. The Campaigns Manager will play a significant role in shaping the organisations approach to public campaigning. The post holder will coordinate a programme of integrated influencing campaigns, mobilising supporters to influence policy change at a national and local level across the four UK nations. This role will act as the lynch pin, coordinating integrated policy led campaigns to achieve multiple objectives across influencing, awareness and fundraising. They will understand how campaigning works alongside public affairs as part of an external influencing approach and will coordinate and support activity appropriately.The role will work closely with key stakeholders including young people affected by cancer, services colleagues and professionals within the NHS to implement campaigns that will positively impact on young peoples lives. ROLE FOCUSStrategy and Planning

  • Work with the Head of Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns and senior stakeholders to define the organisations overall strategy to influencing campaigns locally and nationally across the four UK nations.
  • Play a leading role in defining the priority campaigning issues for the organisation, identifying and advising on the potential for impactful campaigns for change.
  • Responsible for developing and coordinating integrated influencing campaign plans, through working in collaboration with key stakeholders including services, marketing, communications and fundraising.
  • Campaign Mobilisation
  • Work with policy and public affairs colleagues to ensure campaigns are developed with robust policy calls and public affairs plans, for all four nations, to support and align with public facing mobilisation activity.
  • As part of this co-ordinate campaigning activity with public affairs/external facing teams
  • Lead and develop campaigning activity at a national and regional level, working with service teams and health care professionals regionally across the four nations.
  • Work with colleagues in Marketing and Digital to capture data from supporters and advocates to build our network of support.
  • Build a UK wide campaign network that can help shape campaigns and facilitate face-to-face advocacy opportunities for young people, to deliver campaigning objectives.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of current affairs across the four nations relating to the campaigns, identifying and advising on opportunistic campaign amplification and actions.
  • Develop the charitys campaigning expertise and networks both nationally and regionally and effectively mobilise networks to participate in the delivery of campaigns.
  • Work with the Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns Officer to coordinate public facing engagement of political stakeholders, in order to ensure alignment with campaigning activity.
  • Campaign Project management
  • Effectively coordinate public facing influencing campaigns, pulling in relevant teams and expertise to manage integrated campaigns with multiple objectives.
  • Work closely with services colleagues, including the Clinical Lead and Regional Operation & Partnerships Managers and Youth Engagement team, to shape campaign development and ensure networks and relationships are maximised to influence change and young peoples voices are at the heart.
  • Work closely with Fundraising, Brand and Content, Digital and Marketing colleagues to create and deliver campaign assets, integrated public mobilisation strategies and corresponding supporter journeys which increase engagement, influence and income generation.
  • Work closely with the Communications team to ensure campaigns are newsworthy, media opportunities are maximised and messages are aligned.
  • Establish and manage the campaigns engagement system - developing campaigns communications and managing the supplier relationship.
  • Ensure that campaigns are well managed, keep to budget, meet deadlines and have regular reporting.
  • Research and Evidence
  • Work with the Research and Evidence team to ensure campaigns are supported by robust evidence.
  • Work with services colleagues and frontline staff in the NHS to gather insight to spot trends, gaps and opportunities to help shape and deliver campaigns, ensuring they are based on insight.
  • Be adept at using information to further campaign aims, spotting gaps and making recommendations on research to commission for maximum campaign impact.
  • Working with Young People
  • Consult with young people, their families and other relevant groups to inform campaigns, ensuring the needs and voices of young people are at the heart of campaigning.
  • Work with the Story Manager to source young people to support and spearhead campaigns with personal stories and experiences.
  • Work with colleagues in the Youth Engagement Team to create meaningful platforms and opportunities to engage with young people and their families to inform the development and delivery of campaigns.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies are followed in all campaigns activity and produce clear risk assessments and response plans.
  • Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with key teams internally to develop integrated campaigns that meet multiple objectives, influence change and build the charitys supporter base and brand awareness.
  • Use influencing skills to ensure campaigns meet mutual objectives and anticipate and resolve problems relating to campaigns in a collaborative way.
  • Work externally with other organisations to strengthen strategic alliances, identify opportunities to progress campaigning aims and represent Teenage Cancer Trust at relevant campaigning coalitions and working groups.Promote T
