Job Description

We develop large scale technology platforms and enterprise software to produce global financial data with focus on analysis and regulatory requirements. thinkFolio is a leading provider of cross-asset portfolio modelling and management tools, compliance and trading functions for asset managers on the buy side Position summarythinkFolio requires a strong developer with a strong track record building real-time and high-performing distributed applications and front-end technology to work on exciting new projects for high profile clients, leveraging the thinkFolio platform and thedotnet eco-system. thinkFolio is embarking on a high-profile greenfield program of work to completely re-platform the entire solution. This ambitious program will involve the best-in-class business domain experts in product and high functioning engineeringteams supported with the agile project management process. The modernization program will have multiple scrums teams working in parallel with a mix of back-end engineers working with C# (dotnet 6 at a minimum), front-end engineers working with React and full-stackengineers covering both. This is a multi-year greenfield program to expand the core capabilities of the platform, advance our cloud native strategy and more generally help build out our best of breed platform to support this growing business. Duties & accountabilities

  • Work with product owners, engineers and senior stakeholders to define the work items required
  • Build up knowledge and understanding of the current application and business domain
  • Maintain current knowledge of technology landscape and developments
  • Working in Agile focused delivery teams to progress projects in creative and technology enabling deliverables
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Mentor team on technology and other work-related aspects.
  • Drive innovation and adaption of best practices.
Education and experience
  • Degree in Computer Science or relevant real-world experience
  • 2+ years of development experience building enterprise software or platforms in a financial environment (still hands on)
  • Good commercial experience working a developer
  • Good commercial knowledge either building large, distributed platforms in C# or similar technologies, building intuitive front-end applications using modern javascript frameworks (React, Angular or Vue) or as a full stack developer across back-end and front-end
  • Ability to deliver products in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of and ability to apply architectural patterns
  • Solid understanding of at least one database technology (RMDBS, NoSQL, etc)
Commercial awareness
  • Financial experience not required but any exposure to multi-asset OMS / PMS platforms would be a useful
