Job Title Business Systems Analyst Band Contract Report To Project Manager Purpose To analyse, document and propose solutions for business areas and to prepare functional specifications. Ensure delivery of solution(s) in line with the business success criteria Key Responsibilities Collect, understand, and effectively communicate the business requirements for a project(s), and work with the Designers & Development team to translate these into high and detailed level functional specifications and detailed test plans Requirements investigation for enhancements & change requests to provide detailed documentation to support the business processes Document workflows and results of business analysis Provide the link between the customer, development team and any third-party regarding business requirements and software functionality, throughout the development lifecycle To design and execute the user acceptance test scenarios and user acceptance test scripts Weekly reports to be produced for the relevant Manager(s) showing progress against outstanding milestones, status, resource requirements, issues, risks and dependencies Experience and Qualifications Evidence of analysing and documenting complex business Processes & translating them into functional & non-functional specifications. Experience of writing requirements specifications for Information Systems In depth understanding of the principles, methods, techniques and tools of change process management and their relationship to project management and business improvement Good understanding of systems and the ability to assimilate and interpret advice from technical specialists Background or experience of working with complex system integration and data management would be advantageous. A sound understanding of the software development lifecycle Any project management/Prince 2 or equivalent experience would be desirable but not essential Person Profile Results orientated with strong communication and interpersonal skills Good interpersonal and influencing skills to build relationships with both Business users and Technical colleagues across CIO. Can operate effectively managing own workload and as part of a team
