Job Description

Business Support Officer - Childrens Service Havering £16/hrStart date: ASAPAkton Recruitment is working closely with the local authorities and we are looking for an experienced Business Support Officer in the Havering area. The role is ideal for those who are looking for a long-term contract. Previous experience is required for thisrole. An enhanced DBS is required for this role. Main Purpose of the Job/Key Objectives:As part of a professional multi-agency, multi-disciplinary approach provide high-quality diversion, early intervention and liaison to address harm factors, and support young people aged 10 to 17 years to understand trauma experiences, reduce harm and risk -especially of exploitation and involvement with the criminal justice system - and build strategies, skills and resilience for adulthood and positive pathways in their lives.Key objectives:

  • Building of effective, meaningful relationships with young people, and those in their ecology, through a trauma-informed and systemic lens to recognise needs and deliver interventions and support to address these
  • Delivery of direct case work (case-holding, and being the lead professional) with individual young people aged 10-17 who are referred for diversion, including Out of Court Disposals and the Turnaround Programme
  • The delivery of reparation activity with children who are open to the Youth Justice Service
  • Design and delivery of programmes of group work, as agreed, for children within the youth justice cohort
  • Collegiate working with colleagues to maximise support opportunities for adolescents, taking a systemic approach to your delivery;, and developing resilience in the systems our children live in to help steer them away from the contextual harms and the CriminalJustice System
  • Prevent youth offending, protect the public and safeguard individuals
  • Help deliver the authoritys responsibilities under the Children Act 1989 & 2004 and other relevant legislation with respect to children in need, particularly those in need of protection and those in the care of the authority
