Job Description

About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Business Strategy & Governance Consultant to join the Markets COO team based in London, UK. Wells Fargos EMEA Markets division (part of Wells Fargos Corporate & Investment Bank) provides institutional clients, alternative asset managers and corporates with a comprehensive suite of sales, trading, structuring and execution of a wide range of financialmarkets products including fixed income, equities, market-linked products and risk management solutions. The roles primary focus areas will be strategic planning and initiatives execution, governance and business management. Specifically, the candidate will support the International Head of Markets, the Markets COO as well as the Head of Investment, Financing & Solutions with executing their strategic priorities, fulfilling their governance requirements and developing the business. In this role, you will:

  • Assist with the execution of the Markets Strategic plan, as set out by the International Head of Markets.
  • Develop and coordinate business updates, MI, strategic reports and market analyses for the senior leadership team in the Markets Division, for both governance bodies (Boards, ExCos) and senior leadership meetings.
  • Ensure that the business is comprehensively meeting all its internal and external governance and regulatory obligations by coordinating and executing relevant deliverables.
  • Assist in the development of annual strategic plans and financial forecasting for Markets Lines of Business; facilitate the implementation of key initiatives, track and report progress against these.
  • Lead the implementation of business, governance, regulatory or infrastructure initiatives affecting the business, including the introduction of new products / new businesses.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of business processes, reporting and governance.
  • Lead / coordinate projects that the Markets COO is leading, working together with cross-functional teams across Treasury, Risk, Legal and Operations.
  • Support the Markets LOBs in their day-to-day requirements and ensure that they are adequately equipped to achieve their goals.
  • Maintaining relevant legal entity documentation (e.g. Strategic Plans, foundational documents - ICAAP, ILAAP etc, Org Charts, relevant policies and procedures).
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external audits; Respond to audit findings and support remediation activities
  • Support enhancements of operational efficiency for the Markets and IFS Divisions
  • Assist with the maintenance of business continuity plans, physical infrastructure, health and safety regulation and security.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in either the Financial Services / Management Consulting
  • Knowledge of financial markets including (among others) trends in new products, market functions, regulatory changes, market data providers and clearing / exchanges changes
  • Knowledge of internal control and risk management with strong understanding of business operations
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact, negotiate and communicate with all levels of management and team members
  • Sound analytical and communication skills and willingness to take on significant responsibility
  • Must demonstrate a high level of personal motivation, strong interpersonal skills and a broad intellectual capacity
  • Willingness to work long hours in an highly demanding environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong project management and planning skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in an intensive, deadline driven environment
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
